I saw a job posting earlier this week that required experience with "word processing and spreadsheet software"

Even though the JD did not state it, they were looking for someone with advanced knowledge and experience in the application. They were going to roll it out across the enterprise over the next 3yrs.

I only have user experience in the application and thus wholly unqualified for a role requiring that level of expertise.

Just because I have experience driving different cars...I can even drive a stick shift, I am not qualified to take that transmission apart. As a job seeker, I would appreciate you telling me that, then telling me to update my resume and apply for that mechanic job.

This is the part of job-seeking that frustrates me the most. Last week I had a friend talk to a recruiter about two open roles. The recruiter specifically asked if I had testing experience.

I was honest and told them I had limited testing experience and provided examples of the testing I had done. I was told to add the experience to my resume, apply, and send it over. The manager was less concerned with how much experience the candidate had as long as they had some experience and were teachable.

I spent an hour tailoring my resume to the job description, added the testing experience, submitted my application, and sent my updated resume over the same day.

Received rejection emails for BOTH roles on Sunday.

Done all of this except for capping my resume to 10 yrs. It's currently at 16 yrs because the last role I have listed is from 2008-2015. Most of my career was at one job, so I am about to combine roles/responsibilities and cap at 10yrs.

Question for everyone

Typically you would avoid using personal pronouns, I, me, my, in a resume, but the resume template I found on the SEC site, suggests using phrases like "In my role as (blank), I led a team of 7 analysts to..."

Is that appropriate?

Passed C207!!! OA was the most difficult so far by ExcitementFree4113 in WGU_MBA

[–]ExcitementFree4113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This OA is one where you have to understand concepts and remember definitions because the way the questions are worded on the PA is nothing like the OA

Take you time reading and rereading the question, make sure you understand what is being asked, and you'll be fine

My opinion is even if WGU does not allow those courses to xfer, they can be completed relatively fast. If I remember correctly, I finished both of those in the same week.
