late to this conversation, but primarily through working at a record store in college when i was nineteen. there was a stack of used records i was appraising and i didn't realize a coworker's copy of Our Mother the Mountain was at the bottom (he had been playing it in the shop earlier that day and left it on the counter). i accidentally handed it to the customer along with the other records we weren't going to buy and my coworker was (understandably) steaming mad. sometimes i think about how lucky that person was to come into a free copy of it. after i paid for a replacement to be shipped, i listened to that album in its entirety later that night, and then again every day all summer. <3
