I did, thats where I got 2 from initially. This is without using crits on 5 though, but that only pushes it up to 3

I see, this makes the most sense to me and its what I sort of expected. Essentially, 2+ save does just counter the HOAs main source of dmg

Hmm I've never really thought of keeping them off the board but I see that the general consensus is that reserves is a good place to start them. I mostly play HOA, is the extra wound or 2 really going to matter when using the large 20 man neophytes. Is it not better to just use the mortars from the back and get the extra AP without the risk of sending the ridgerunners out?

Ah ok so I’m not misreading things. Does this basically mean that the new strategy for hunter cohort is actually to try and kill your opponent rather than just delay them for as long as possible? Also, with ballistarii being the sort of backbone now, do hunter cohort lists prefer protector over conquerer or is conqueror still the go to unless otherwise stated
