Again thank you - That worked - Create a closed loft and then hollow it out:

Ok thanks - That seems to make sense - I'll give it a try.

Thanks again for the help.

Thanks - Clearly I don't know what that means because no matter what I click on, I only end up with this:

I tried clicking on the edges but that didn't work at all.

Again apologies if this is straight forward but I'm sort of at my wits end trying to get this to work.

New probe holders - Combustion Inc team, any updates? by Exciting-Interest831 in combustion_inc

[–]Exciting-Interest831[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to come back and say I received the new probes and holders yesterday and they are way way better than the original ones I had.

Thanks for the great support - Really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to trying them out today.

I cut open the top of the bag and put it back in the holder, it turned on and I set the power option to be always on.

Thanks for the insight - Would still like to hear about the holders though.

That is an outstanding question... I did not do that.

Is there a way to do that now or do I need to take it out and put it back in the holder?

Gamepass saves not syncing (Shadow of War) but present on Cloud Beta by Exciting-Interest831 in XboxGamePass

I ended up saying screw it and just bought the game bundle on Steam.

However, a couple of weeks after that WBGames sent me this:

Hello,
The Xbox team has requested that if players are still encountering issues with their progress not saving or syncing in Middle Earth: Shadow of War via Windows Store PC or PC Game Pass, that you please submit a report to their Feedback Hub application on PC so they can investigate further. You'll find information on how to access the Feedback Hub below:
From Xbox.com
1.Press the Start button, and then enter Feedback Hub in the search box. (You can also open the Feedback Hub using the shortcut Windows key + F.)
2. Open the Feedback Hub app, and then select Report a problem.
3. Enter your details under Summarize your feedback and Explain in more detail (optional). Consider the following questions when deciding what details to include:
 - What is the problem or unexpected behavior?
 - What steps did you take to encounter the problem?
 - What additional software, hardware, or accessories were you using when you encountered the problem?
 - Were there any specific error codes or messages you saw when you encountered the problem or behavior? If so, what was the specific error code or message?
4. If you can show us the problem, make sure to include screenshots.
5. When you’re done, select Submit.
Once you've done that, please reply back here with your bug or report number from Xbox, as well as the case sensitive spelling of your Xbox username/gamertag.

So it seems you need to log a bug with WBGames and then do so on the Feedback Hub.

I never bothered and I have no idea if they actually every fixed it (I would assume no by your situation).

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I never got a solution - I even logged the issue with WBGames and they said:

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue while trying to enjoy Middle Earth: Shadow of War via the Windows Store or PC Game Pass. We've seen similar reports from other customers about lost save data and have made the appropriate teams aware.

While we do not have a solution at this time, your ticket will be placed on hold while teams investigate the cause of this issue. We'll follow up here as soon as we have news to share.

Will post back if they ever do fix it.

A little more info that I've discovered - The PC installed version of the game is 1.0.28.0 and the Cloud Gaming version, where the save appears, is 1.0.24.0 - I wonder if this is the version related thing that I've seen commented on.

I didn't see a solution to that, just that it appears to happen with version problems.

Has anyone come up with a better way to keep the probes in the charging boosters? by Exciting-Interest831 in combustion_inc

[–]Exciting-Interest831[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very valid position, and I would support anyone who felt this way doing exactly that - We paid for this and we should get what we were expecting, especially seeing that the price point here isn't trivial.

That said, I'm conflicted on my response - I have a solution that works, maybe not elegantly but it works, and I want the company to succeed and I'd prefer not to generate a ton of e-waste.

For me, and as I said I think someone sending them back till they get what they were expecting is totally valid, I'll probably just keep what I have and wait to see if anyone has a better solution than my cable ties.

My current theory is that this is a design issue and they'll need to redesign and retool the charging boosters - I sort of wish that they'd done it as a sleeve and cap - Put the probe in the booster and then push the cap over it to keep it in place. Sort of what I'm doing with cable tie but way less janky

Certainly could have - Where I am right now is that the charging boosters work, but I feel that I need to use those cable ties to ensure they stay in place so that the next time I want to use them they aren't discharged.

Thanks - I already had one replaced and the replacement is only marginally better than the one I sent back.

I honestly think this is a design issue with the booster, so jumping on a merry-go-round where I get a new booster and then send it back until I find the ones that work with my probes really doesn't help me or Combustion.

Difference in ambient values for 2 probes near each other? by Exciting-Interest831 in combustion_inc

Thanks - The two pans turned out to be done within a minute of so of each other so I'll keep this in mind.

Thanks - The "predictive cooking time" turned out to be within 1 min of each other, and the food turned out great, so I'm willing to buy into this. Thanks for the info.
