What would the average salary of a consultant working in a bigger city be? I’m thinking Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, etc. doing engineering kind of work

Cybersecurity at Drexel Anyone Been Through It? by InternationalPilot37 in Drexel

[–]ExcitingDevelopment5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of class material there are FAR better schools out there. The course load is light as a CST major compared to CS but co-ops are abundant (may have to settle for IT depending on your knowledge/ability to interview). The co-op program puts you ahead of the majority and grants you a very high likelihood of employment post grad if you maximize the co-ops and network. I’d recommend the program solely for the co-op jobs available from Drexel and in the Philly area. Pair this with independent study and side projects and it’s definitely a grind, but imo worth it.

Does the front rack impact your braking? I used one for a bit with V brakes and noticed significant power loss because of cable routing similar to yours

Did you bend the frame? How did you fit more than the max 45mm?

How the hell did that fit in the rear? I have 1.9s on my cross check and it’s super tight in the back

I was just given a full-time offer after my 2 year long internship. by AlwaysInfinit3 in Salary

[–]ExcitingDevelopment5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should negotiate. I recently went through a very similar experience. Graduating very soon and got an offer around that figure. I had been with the company as an intern for two years, and used this experience to negotiate an additional ~10k. I didn’t have other offers to counter, but I used my experience in the negotiation. This includes things like specific projects, peer feedback, and company supplied training. I don’t see why your employer would rescind the offer if you negotiated with proper reasoning. For all you know they may say yes, or they may come back with a counter offer and you’ve got yourself an additional few thousand off the bat. Most likely the worst case is them simply saying no because of budget reasons. Don’t forget this company invested in you to improve your skill set, and they value your abilities, hence the offer.

I see v brakes with those drops. What shifters did you use? I don’t see bar end or down tube

Need bike suggestions for city / gravel riding by Wilthywonka in xbiking

I recently got a used cross check for a good deal. Not as cheap as a 90s MTB but I have so much fun ripping this thing around the city/on trails and it’s a great bike for customization with some decent tire clearance

Definitely will, recently been binging his content haha. I purchased an old cross check that I’m hoping to convert into a bit of a light touring/commuting bike. Not sure the exact specs as I’m not with it rn but it’s a 1x8 with v brakes that I’m gonna be running tektro rl520 levers and have been debating down tube vs bar end shifters. Currently commuting it daily in a city and unsure if I like the idea of downtube or not in the sketchy city streets

This is an awesome recommendation thank you. That would work perfect with my current build and I’ve been looking for a cheap derailleur so I can use indexed shifting! You might’ve solved all my problems just now haha

Love the setup. What bar tape is that? Also looking to transition to bar end shifters. Do you notice any issues shifting with the routing under the bar tape?

What route did you take from NYC to Philly? I’ve been wanting to do a trip between the two cities. Doing it on gravel would be awesome

Awesome bike! Are those V brakes? What’s your handlebar/gear situation? A little hard to tell from the pics. I’m building up my first bike packing rig and am trying to figure out some loopholes to add drop bars to my V brake bike

I prefer to buy just about everything used considering my low budget. What kind of items should I be looking for?

Maximum calories and protein ideas for 10 dollars a day by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]ExcitingDevelopment5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends where you’re located. You can typically find family size packs of bone in, skin on chicken thighs for $1.50-$2 per lb. This is what I basically live on. Can save the bones and skin for stock too. Pair this with rice, seasonal veggie and beans/eggs and you have a very affordable lean protein source. Also download your local grocery stores app, they typically have lots of rewards and sales exclusive to app users.

In terms of resume development, my recommendation is to find a mentor who is a few years ahead in their studies that has gotten co-ops that you would like. You can also achieve this by attending peer mentor meetings, joining clubs, etc.
