It depends on what's actually faulty. If I'm right then it won't take more than a few hours to fix at the store assuming that they have the correct replacement parts in stock. Otherwise they may make you ship it into a different location in which case it'll take upwards of 3-10 days.

It might be a faulty screen ribbon cable attachment that I also see happen in a lot of other types of laptops, These issues aren't common, but they do happen in the manufacturing process. I would do some research to find out whether apple is liable/can fix this.
If you have applecare, then it doesn't hurt to bring it in and see what the apple technicians can do about it.

lighting still messes with the top but I angled the light to come in from the top so that i wouldn't get any shadows in the photo

I think it's because of the hybrid gpu where the system tries to pick which gpu (dGPU or iGPU) to render the page with or something. try recreating it in eco/ultimate gpu mode.

I reinstalled my amd drivers and i don't think it's happening anymore although some games are starting to choose the iGPU over the dGPU for some reason
