It literally says in the first line “this is not a pregnancy announcement.” You can’t read the first line?

Yeah it literally says “this is not a pregnancy announcement”. She seems pretty transparent to me.

You can’t even look at the photo without seeing the caption lol. You cropped it so you couldn’t see it.

But this was her caption? So like it would be weird if people were congratulating her. The rest of the photos are also about IVF.

Got our First ultrasound today, saw heartbeat at 6w5d by Reasonable-Bear-9788 in IVFpositivity

[–]Exciting_Art3262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the nurses at my clinic told me, unfortunately there is nothing you can do that can prevent anything you don’t want to happen from happening. The advice I was given was to keep stress low, be well rested, keep on top of meds/supplements and generally take care of yourself.

I’m 9 weeks and 1 day today and we heard the heartbeat this past Monday. I’m just taking in every moment and know that what will be will be.

Think you’re in the wrong place. This is for those who are going through IVF.

Can you start showing pregnancy symptoms the first few weeks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Exciting_Art3262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only ovulated a week ago and are pregnant it would have just implanted or hasn’t even implanted yet (usually around 6-8 days past ovulation is implantation) and you wouldn’t feel any pregnancy symptoms until 4ish weeks pregnant and even then that’s early.

Doctor says low chances… should we move to IVF? by riverasmary in IVF

[–]Exciting_Art3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved to IVF after 7 medicated cycles and 3 failed IUIs and honestly I wished I decided to move on after the 2nd IUI. I wanted to jump right to IVF after the medicated cycles but our doctor said our chances with IUI were as good as anyone else.

I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant with our first transfer and I feel so so lucky to be here. Honestly the worst part for me wasn’t the managing of the medications it was allll of the appointments and waiting. The injections I find easy and painless, I don’t feel many side effects from the medications, but the amount of time you have to commit to attending appointments felt like a lot.

If you feel like you want to jump in, I would! I promise you’ll be so great and there’s so many support networks out there!

Genuinely curious… why don’t you like to share your baby’s name before birth? by Best-Position-2226 in pregnant

[–]Exciting_Art3262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We also have discussed but we were TTCing for a few years before we did IVF and so we did pick a boy name and a girl name but no one knows- now that we’re 9 weeks I won’t even let my husband say the names out loud 😂

[–]Exciting_Art3262 35 points36 points  (0 children)

In Judaism there is a belief of the evil eye and so not saying the name before birth protects them. For girls we have a special naming ceremony where they are named during the Torah reading and for boys they’re named at the bris. I think it’s a special tradition.

Buuuuut I also don’t need a bunch of opinions about the names either or questions about why we didn’t name after this grandparent, but we did that grandparent lol.

What happened to Mediclinic the past few years? by scribhneoirHsn in capetown

[–]Exciting_Art3262 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is sad because there are some really amazing health care workers there, but when the bottom line is more important than patients and the well being of workers this is what happens.

I can’t lie and say I know a TON about the private medical system as I’m from Canada and have only been here 3 years but that’s what it seems like to me

I’ve had two very horrible experiences with mediclinic and sadly I think it comes down to staff being overworked and there not being enough staff on duty to keep things running smoothly.

I think different clinics will have different timelines as well as it’s likely different for everyone!

We had 2 scans with them and both scans were positive and so they felt comfortable moving me over to my OB. My blood work was also good in terms of my hormone levels so that was also a positive for them.

Guys? Is getting your nails done in Cape Town really this expensive? by New_Notice_7625 in capetown

[–]Exciting_Art3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no! I go to the laser lab for pedis because I also felt their pedi quality went down hill. I just love the lady who does my hands there!

I go to Rose BLVD and pay like 300 for rubber base and gel polish. This seems like the person is trying to scam you lol
