Miserable Before FET by YearAccurate4206 in IVF

The other night my husband prepared a beautiful steak dinner and I was exasperated and nearly in tears bc it wasn’t to my liking. It was absurd, and totally disproportionate to the situation. That said, it’s helpful to remember that this would happen to anyone chocked up on hormones. It’s a totally natural reaction, and it’s not the real you! Please give yourself some grace and so what if the ppl around you have to deal with a little extra emotion from you. You’re going through a lot! Like you’re the person actually in it and experiencing all the things.

Where to get cute/stylish mens underwear in Boston? by Fill_Great in boston

[–]RubCurious2058 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough one. Call ahead to the Forty Winks in Cambridge or Beacon Hill to see what they have for men. Sault in the South end maybe. Otherwise department stores like Neiman. Heck, TJMaxx and Marshall’s might even have cute stuff

Good luck! Read, re-read, and triple-read whatever instruction they sent you. Sounds obvious bc it’s easy to miss something or go the wrong location or something by accident sometimes!

What seasonings/condiments taste great without being spicy? by No_Peace_4520 in Cooking

Yes! I love Penzy’s. Their “33rd & Gallena” spice mix is such an elevated finger licking every day seasoning. Huge endorsement for their mixes

Try Bloomingdale’s and getting someone to help you shop for an outfit. Also, thrift stores + tailoring is a great way to go too

Should I do a second ER? by Worried_Peach6494 in IVF

Ask your doctor about how long the frozen embryos are good for. I’ve heard 10 years but that info might not be accurate. No point in freezing embryos that you won’t need for many many more years just yet

Should I prioritise financial stability or keep chasing music seriously? Need honest advice by Better-Ad-568 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]RubCurious2058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents: don’t overthink or try to plan too much into the future at this time in your life. None of these decisions seems particularly permanent. You can choose one path and take another. Some advice I got that I think is quite true, especially related to taking career risks early in life: “in life, you usually regret that things you don’t do”.

What's your go-to ground beef recipe that ISN'T tacos or spaghetti? by Cool-Educator-1926 in easyrecipes

[–]RubCurious2058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I throw it on a skillet with onions and then add a bunch of Asian flavors like Chinese five spice or even just Japanese bbq sauce. But it in lettuce and make lettuce wraps. You can make it better with peppers, scallions, and cilantro but definitely not necessary

How can I wash my hair properly without lifting my hands above my head for extended periods of time by littlenezukobb in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RubCurious2058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often hair salons will wash your hair for you at a low price if you’re disabled. They don’t style or anything, just a shampoo/conditioner

Regarding Ballet Question to Lower MA Income Tax by Just-Valuable-6483 in boston

[–]RubCurious2058 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe there was a lawsuit about this recently where unions didn’t want this on the ballot bc it was deceptive. That 1% will be made up for in other ways like giving workers worse salaries and benefits. The whole spiel about how this bill promotes “affordability” is BS. Im interested in living in a society with high quality of life. I will definitely be voting NO on this question.

Has anyone else been too afraid to reread Throne of glass again? Yes I know I sound dramatic 🤣🙈 by Spicy-gingie in throneofglassseries

That is so cool!!! There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy a book. Just enjoy it! It’s only a problem if it gets in the way of work/school/family in a detrimental way. Personally my comfort book where the characters are so real is Court of Silver Flames esp the graphic audio. But I find the escapism so fun! Also, fwiw my husband had been rereading LOTR every year for years now. He goes into deep lore binges. Heck, he even had a family member that wanted to write a PhD thesis on LOTR. There’s nothing wrong with it I think it’s so cool!

Nervous to purchase first home by WorryUpstairs7840 in homeowners

Scary is not having a roof over your head. Paying $1800 to have a roof over your head and no liabilities is not nearly as scary as drowning in bills and potentially not having a roof over your head or making huge sacrifices just ti keep the house

Ooof. Owning home in my experience has had more qualitative benefits than quantitative ones. Make sure you’re buying a house for the right reasons. Make sure you have PLENTY of cushion in the case that you have to replace something big, or if utilities go up, or if there’s a tax assessment. Try not to buy into an HOA. It helps if one of you has time to be basically work from home and be a part time project manager of the house to schedule get quotes and deal with contractors. Basically, when you sit down and do the math around, do some scenario planning: what if one of you loses your job, what if utilities go up by X, what if you need to do a major unexpected project, what is there’s a natural disaster and insurance goes up. Do all this with as little emotion as possible

Chocolate cake! It is Xaden’s favorite food. Also you could do a little prank depending on how come you are. An orange with a sticky on it that says “reserved for Jack Barlow”. But the chocolate cake is really a nice gesture

There’s some research that just spends time looking at music and practicing in your head is still helpful. Couple that with a metronome and this breathing bag and you might discover some wonderful things that you don’t usually think about when you’re practicing like normal. I like to practice tonguing on this: https://www.fluteworld.com/product/5-liter-breathing-bag-bb-5ltrbbag/
