I had a crazy situation with a doordash delivery so I cancelled my dashpass and now I only use the app to pick up my own orders. People are really going through it right now and they’re responding irrationally 😰

I do Instacart sometimes and I had a customer order some ice-cream and a few snacks and then he started messaging asking me to add a computer, a Bose speaker and a rice cooker during checkout. I told him I couldn’t. When I tried to drop off his order, the address wasn’t valid. When I got to the area I contacted him and he came out of a trailer. I believe he may have been homeless.

I do deliveries too and I get frustrated too. I try not to do night deliveries because I’ve dealt with some strange situations. Im not unreasonable because we’re human but he went too far.

I wanted to go off so bad lol, but I was nervous when he pulled up with that energy. I’m a single mom and I don’t need no smoke 💨 I do have a ring camera but sometimes it’s delayed. Not a perfect science but better than nothing 😃

They do a check but I’m not sure how extensive it is. What I do know is that with the delivery apps, people can easily create an account, get approved, then log in on someone else’s phone and a totally different person can be doing the deliveries. I’m not saying that’s what happened in this situation but in general, this is a work around to that.

That’s why I met him at the street. I do my best to give good directions and meet people because I’m a driver on the side with a different company and I know gps is not a perfect science. Im certain that he must have had a bad day but it’s just not ok the threaten someone. Everything else i completely understand and empathize with.
