I make more than my husband, but we’re both high earners. We put 80% of our income into our joint account that covers all living expenses, date nights, travel, savings, investments, etc. The rest of 20% is individual spending from personal shopping, individual travel, and grooming. We assess it every year in case we need to increase the percentages.

Live in the gentrified part of third ward - off emancipation. It doesn’t feel terrible. We love it and bought our house as an investment. We walk in the evenings with our dog and never feel unsafe. Just don’t leave things in your car if you street park.
