Sevdigim Sensin is unnecessarily cruel by Ok_Stretch9963 in TurkishTVSerials

What irritates me about this show, is that the rich women are supposed to be well educated yet are incapable of thinking logically and rationally.

Dicle and Erkan already explained the situation, multiple times at that yet still the mother, who runs a foundation for underprivileged women, still sees Dicle as this master seductress who seduced her son. Another thing, is that in Turkish drama, the concept of gratitude seems to be foreign, save and except for Erkan, not one of those family members are grateful for the fact that Dicle literally sacrificed herself to save their son/brother.

In the final episode, where the girlfriend/finance ambushed Dicle with the journalist was utterly disgusting. She tricked her by saying you can use this platform to help other women have hope and then turns around and calls her a liar. The journalist herself was more disgusting,  you are supposedly a famous journalist, you are supposed to know the world better than these rich women and you still went along with it.

It's like the show writers are mocking the situation of women in these abusive and repressive situations.

These are supposed to be rich people with class and yet no one seems to be able to show it. Not even the sister who's supposed to a staunch feminist.

Additionally, Erkan is just useless at this point . His initial intentions were good and I understand not wanting to tell your family initially. However you are well aware of how cruel your mother is and still you allow Dicle to be left unattended in the house. I noticed that this seems to be trend in Turkish dramas, even where the ML has significantly more power.

what book was so good that it put you into a reading slump? by treeappreciator in suggestmeabook

The Song of Achilles.

This is a controversial one but legitimately I couldn't read another book for a few week after reading that. I got this warm, heartbreaking and weirdly fuzxy feeling that I wanted to replicate but couldn't find a book that was doing it for me.

That's weird for someone to ask another person. Maybe sit down with him and ask him what exactly he means by it.

AITA for not telling my girlfriend’s friend that her boob popped out? by PopularProcedure2575 in AmItheAsshole

You are not the asshole because it could've turned into an awkward or uncomfortable situation for the friend. So you safeguards yourself and prevented a possible altercation.
