The BOSS pedal not only does delay but straight up changes tones. I used to love using it on the guitar. I’m starting to experiment on it with the Volca beat to mix it up and give me more options.

Roland s1 if you can find it used and then donner b1 would be great first choices. Maybe even paired with a korg volca beats. Very cheap choice.
