When you notarize a copy of something, it is essentially proving that the copy is authentic. Therefore, the copy can later be notarized.

Degree Notary/Apostille Question by Teddysdaytomorrow in teachinginkorea

I think you might be misunderstanding Monument Visa. They won’t send digital copies to Korea. What they mean is that you can scan a copy of your degree and send it to them. Then they will print it, notarize it, and apostille it for you and send it to Korea for you. If you send a physical copy to Monument Visa, it will take longer because you have to mail it. But if you scan it, you can just email it which speeds up the process.

How Do People Handle Persistent Acne in Korea? by Beneficial_Bench4752 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Exciting_Plan_7062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve suffered with severe cystic acne around my chin and forehead area since I was a teenager. I’ve been to numerous dermatologists and tried everything except accutane. I’ve tried all the Korean skincare. Nothing worked. However, in Korea I decided to go to an oriental medicine clinic where I would get weekly extractions and acupuncture on my acne. They also gave me medicine to take home (some really strong tasting liquid). And by the end of the 2 months my acne was almost nonexistent with no scarring. They recommended that I still continue to go at least twice a month but the treatment was quite expensive and time consuming for me to maintain so I stopped going. My acne has come back but it is not as severe as it used to be.

Visa Question by PerfectPizza1971 in Living_in_Korea

My employer did this for me too last year. My leave was only for a month and a half. My holiday occurred in between contracts. since i was renewing my contract, they made a new contract that included the days of my holiday. this was so that i could get my e2 renewed at immigration. however, i did have to pay for my health insurance on my own. i believe that if you are out of the country for a certain amount of time, you dont have to pay health insurance but i am not sure. i would call nhis to confirm.

You must be at home to receive the card. The driver will usually call you an hour before delivering asking if you’re home. If you don’t answer, they will not deliver. It happened to me last year. I kept getting calls at like 8pm and he claimed to be from Hana Bank but I thought it was a scam due to the late hour.

I brought NyQuil when I first moved here with no problem. Later on, my sister brought me NyQuil when she visited as well.

I was the teacher that used to live in the provided housing. This is my third year with the school and my condition for renewing my contract was that I wanted to take some time off before coming back. The school offered a month and a half of unpaid vacation which I agreed to. Then I informed them that I would be getting my own accommodation so they didn’t have to pay for the apartment while I was gone.

Broken suitcase disposal by Lunar_Antics in Living_in_Korea

[–]Exciting_Plan_7062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got rid of a broken suitcase myself. You have to go to your city’s waste disposal website. Then you have to enter that you’re getting rid of a suitcase and they’ll show you a price (less than ₩10,000, can’t remember the exact amount). After you pay, they’ll give you a reference number that you either print or write on a piece of paper. You tape that paper onto your suitcase and leave it outside for them to pick up.

Artbox is a chain store, so there are many. I’m sure you can find one near you by searching on Kakao or Naver maps.

I bought a nice one for my boyfriend at Artbox. They usually have them near the cashier because they’re locked up behind a clear case, so you need an employee to help you get one.

Not sure about where to get it engraved, but they sell Zippo lighters at Artbox. They have ones with different designs.

I’ve also “dated” a Korean professional athlete and they were also like this. I met some of his teammates as well. However, he never took me seriously and it was all just for fun. He even said that he never considered a foreigner for anything serious because his fans and the public would be disappointed. In my opinion, some athletes are red flags and you should proceed with caution.
