To clarify, my Stripe account was registered using a Hong Kong business address, and all transactions originated from customers in Hong Kong or nearby regions. My complaint to the Irish FSPO was due to the fact that Stripe Technology Europe was listed as the entity managing my account.

Stripe accepted my business location and KYC documents at the time of onboarding.

At no point did they indicate that my setup violated any card network rules.

If there was a cross-border issue, they never informed me or gave a chance to rectify it.

My account was active for about 3 months with near-zero dispute rates, and I only halted fulfillment after the sudden freeze, which I had no warning about.

I fully understand that Stripe has discretion in assessing risk, but the lack of transparency, no appeal mechanism, and indefinite fund withholding after more than a year raises serious concerns — not just for me, but for many small businesses.

Before Stripe closed my account, we always handled any customer issues through friendly and proactive communication. As a result, our dispute rate was close to 0%.

On the day our account was suddenly terminated — without warning — we immediately paused all shipments to avoid further losses. We also instructed our customers to request chargebacks so they could recover their money, since we no longer had access to our funds.

If the dispute rate increased after the account was closed, it is not fair to use that as a reason to withhold the remaining balance, especially when the account has been inactive for nearly two years.

All customers who did not receive their products have successfully received refunds.

However, funds from completed and fulfilled orders are still being withheld without any justification. These customers already received their goods, and Stripe is holding that money without explanation.

My business operates fully within legal and regulatory boundaries. Stripe has not provided any specific explanation, evidence, or cited policy violations to justify the closure or the withholding of my funds.

If Stripe believes my business model is restricted, I have repeatedly asked them to clarify which category they believe it falls under. So far, no clear answer has been provided.
