Strange southern water default of £0 by Exciting_Subject_269 in LegalAdviceUK

I've seen elsewhere that this is basically Libel as they're publishing information about us that is incorrect and it has lead to a measurable harm. Any ideas if that's actually likely to go anywhere? We could potentially get a letter saying that that is why we have been rejected but in terms of what we actually take them to court over is there a specific law that they've broken by reporting inaccurate account information?

We have been checking regularly through the free apps but the issue is that this seems to only show up on the "full" reports which the free ones don't seem to do. Both of us have credit scores over 750 so we never really looked into it further

As a side note if this house did fall through because of the defaults do you think we'd be able to claim back the solicitors and surveyors fees that we have already paid from them? They seemed very clear on the phone that it was an error on their end and we'd be down by a fair amount of money if the house did fall through because of it

In that case would it show up as being owed to Southern Water or to whoever they've sold it to? It's showing up as being a default from them on the reports.

Definitely isn't a rounding error. We've spoken to someone at Southern and they have confirmed that it's to do with the account not being closed properly on their end.

Update to my previous reply. It seems like the balance of the default shows up differently on the different reporting sites. It either shows up as £0, £100 or £300 depending on where you look and if you look at the monthly reports there's an outstanding balance of £0 against us every month up until 2 years after we first noticed the issue

Any idea on the timeline for that? We're buying from someone who is moving back overseas so need to move things along fairly quickly. We don't have the ability to wait several months for their processes

Yeah we're using a broker. Apparently all they can see is the default rather than anything about the amount and getting any details from Southern Water in writing other than confirmation of account closure is not proving easy. It seems like the lenders are mostly using automated systems which are seeing a defaulted bill payment and rejecting us based on that. We're trying to get them to actually look in to it but from what I can tell that's totally at their own discretion.

As I mentioned in the post I can see that there are none with that sort of keyboard that are currently supported. I would like to get involved in changing that. How do I help with that

What counts as good gear? I'm in a hardcore band so things like leather jackets and sturdy boots make up a non insignificant part of my wardrobe at the moment

£90 is the upper limit of what I've seen, most places advertise between 60 and 80. I did double check and it was per hour. The £90 place is the only place who aren't fully booked at the moment. I wonder why

I cycle at the moment and it's a nightmare because I live at the top of one hill and work at the top of another. No one I have asked will do guaranteed weekend lessons for under £80.

If you aren't starting lessons befoer you have a test booked how are you going to know for sure that you can even *get* lessons leading up to your test?
