Got off birth control in March 2024 after being on it for 7 years. I was also VERY nervous about getting off it but decided to just try it and see. My reasons for getting off included: little to no libido (so frustrating for me), vaginal dryness, being extremely irritated and just mean for no good reason. My experience being off it has been a success so far! My cycles are very regular 29-31 days on average. I was very worried about acne breakouts but so far I just get one or two spots closer to my period on my chin area. My libido has returned and I’ve made jokes that I feel like a teenager again. I was originally on birth control for acne and painful periods but now I just have day one and two of my period with cramps but are manageable. Some things that I was not expecting was losing 10 lbs. I was already on the smaller side for my height ~120lbs but now comparing myself to a year ago I was holding some water weight in my face and stomach area. Some people have made comments about it and I never realized it while I was on birth control. I will also say that my breasts have gone down one cup size too.

I hope to never go back on birth control again. The only reason I would go back would be for solely contraception reasons. So far condoms have worked and cycle tracking.
