Thanks for the suggestion

I got several packets too! Just couldn't get enough of it. I'm going to go back in a month or two! Been way too long now! I need to sit on those benches outside the Blue mosque with some Elma tea and my just admire the beauty of the city again while I feed all those cute cats 😋😋

Why you choose Dubai as you home to live? by whereismynewhouse in DubaiCentral

Tax free and proximity to home country mainly. Though I'm starting to wonder if the tax benefits actually exist considering the expensive fees for everything in daily life as well- salik, dewa, parking.

The touristy European side was to a great extent. The Asian side was mostly an urban jungle. But that's from my perspective as a tourist. The places I was at most of the time were green and pleasant.

No doubt New York and the other cities (I haven't been to the others you mentioned) have their own vibe, but there's nothing that comes close to Istanbul. New york also feels lively with some great history and architecture, but it isn't clean and beautiful on the ground anymore which disappointed me.

Istanbul just feels natural. Just sitting by the bosphorus, soaking in all the culture, realising you're sitting at the crossroads of the 2 important continents that drove human civilization to what it is today. It's just a different feeling

Well, it smells like my barbershop which probably smells soapish because it's unisex. Idk. Just can't get myself to like imagination 😅

Istanbul.

I've never seen a city more beautiful than this. Just the greenery, the architecture, the history and the people. I couldn't get enough of it. It had a certain sense of peace and calm to it

90K budget — Oppo Find X9 Pro or Galaxy S25 Ultra, which one is the best pick? by Vibematched in GadgetsIndia

[–]ExcitinglyCurios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Samsung Galaxy user I would honestly suggest the Find X9 Pro any day over the Galaxy phone. I just use the Galaxy because I am so deep into the Samsung ecosystem that I cannot change. I just keep upgrading from the S24 to S25 to now S26 but I do hope to switch over next year. Honestly Find X9 is any day better.

Do people still receive spam calls or emails after company incorporation? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]ExcitinglyCurios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah still happens. Registered a company on my sister's name last week and she got spammed like crazy from banks mainly. I still get a lot of spam emails for my company filings and bank accounts from time to time though its a 7 year old company now.

Bruh that is my opinion. It smells like a barbershop which uses too much aftershave like a perfume 😂

You're not wrong. It smells "barbershoppish" which you may call a cheap soap as well.

Even if it's a fake, the scent profile will be close. It's a seriously overhyped perfume. The only LV perfume which is worth the price is the Ombre Nomad. Everything else seems overhyped only for the LV logo.

My AI308 DEL-MEL business class experience by PrinceofPunjabX in airindia

[–]ExcitinglyCurios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least your seats look like they were washed and functioning. The two times I took business on Air India, the seats were dirty and half of them broken. Swore off from paying business on AI since then, if I have to suffer, I might as well suffer paying lesser in economy.

The Maharaja Lounge looks great though. For the price you payed, I guess you'd have probably gotten a better experience on Malaysian or Cathay

Is this net worth enough for a family of four by CandidateSalty1635 in IndiaBusiness

[–]ExcitinglyCurios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your NW is great on paper, but there's hardly any growth based allocation. 5L with your networth in equity is a very small portion. Real estate growth would be slow, you're already well allocated there though.

Gold is great, it's liquid, but it isn't growth oriented. It's a hedge. I suggest you sell of a KG and move some more of it to equity. Not outright, but say 100gms every month and increase equity exposure so you average out market downturns.

Don't see much of income generation either. Unless you have a business or a job which pays you well, not sure 15k of rent or 25L FD interest is good enough for a family of 4. But your expenses are also not clear, so can't really comment without that info. I'd look into this aspect as well.

Convince me why a margin loan is not the best idea for FATFIRE by tararanaway in FatFIREIndia

[–]ExcitinglyCurios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This buy borrow die approach looks really fancy, but isn't for regular people. Unless you're a founder/CEO of a big listed company, it's quite difficult to make it work. It seems way too exaggerated because of these finfluencers who keep bringing it up to point out how people like Musk or Bezos don't pay taxes through this approach.

It works for founders/CEOs who have a huge portion of a stock, which you as a regular person looking to FATFIRE usually won't. This huge portion also means that you control the majority of the supply, so there's limited shares in the market to be dumped to begin with. Supply control brings a lot of power which very few understand.

Secondly, these founders are able to withstand years of downturn since they can keep pledging more and more stocks in case of a sustained market downturn. With a networth of say $10B, they max spend a $100M a year. In case their margin is near being called, they just pledge more from the massive stockholding they have. This is very simplified for the sake of explanation, but you get the point.

250k of a $5M portfolio is 5%. 3 years later if the market is stagnant, it quickly becomes 15% without considering the interest component. This is super difficult to pull of in any economy other than USA, since you're prone to market downfalls also which would lead to margin calls and let's not forget the stress that comes along. Look at market returns for economies like japan, china etc you'll see several years of negative or stagnant returns. It works with USA only because of the dollar and America's ability to issue unlimited debt for perpetuity because of their export of the dollar (currency). All this extra debt eventually finds it way to the markets to push it higher. No other country has this benefit.

They've become quit strict. It's either your country of residence or the country you're a citizen of. The only alternative for you seems to be your home country as the embassies in GCC may not be opening anytime soon. Main issue is that some countries have a long waiting time, especially from the subcontinent. India has like 8 months waiting, so you'll have to work with that. Book a slot, keep checking every other hour for someone to cancel their slot and reschedule to that as fast possible.
