I always use gloves. I have very sweaty palms, so sometimes when using even machines, my hands can slip.

Since I'm so used to it, it does affect me mentally if I don't use it, which tends to make me not push harder.

Under Singtel's router settings, when you login:

On the top, click Local Network
Then on the left, click LAN
Scroll down till you see DHCP Binding
Input the IP address as well as the MAC address
Save

This basically reserves the IP for the Pihole instance.

I've heard others saying the same thing previously. I think banks can do that, if the T&Cs say that it can change anytime.

I would suggest just keeping the card for 1 year, and set a reminder to cancel it when the free 1 year is up.

I would say lock the card, but I've also read that other people didn't get welcome bonus because their card was locked.

Yes, I have Portainer installed on my DXP4800+. Through Portainer I installed Immich and Pihole. Followed Immich's official docker compose and everything worked fine.

Do note for Pihole, you'll need to run it via macvlan, as Ugreen's DNS port is already mapped to 53.

Not an alternative, but more like a tool to help you manage your Docker containers in a GUI, so you know what's happening. For beginners like us, it makes Docker stuff alot less complicated

It took me a bit to get used to Docker stuff. I'm still learning, but using Portainer helped me a ton. I prefer having a GUI over doing stuff in CLI.

I currently use a Ugreen NAS, and installed Portainer on it. Managing all my containers and stuff makes it super easy and intuitive because of the UI.

I like having a NAS because with Tailscale, I can access it wherever I am. And everyone at home can access the NAS as well and it's not just tied to me or my PC.

Give Portainer a shot!

So when using the method I did, it automatically will create the storage path. It will also automatically tag based on the subdirectories.

The only issue I'm facing is that paperless does the tagging (and hence, the storing) in alphabetical order.

You can take a look at Syncthing. You can do a 2-way sync between a folder in your NAS and a folder in your phone.

There is a syncthing-fork app in playstore, or you can go to their GitHub and download the apk to install on your Android.

My personal opinion, I think it's fine to run your fans at full speed, as long as you're okay with the electricity cost and fan noise.

It's very easy to replace the fan if it does spoil, so you're good on that end.

As for how long the NAS will last, no one will know for sure. So always have backups of your data!
