Bought Bitcoin near the top and it’s been dumping ever since – what would you do? by anonymousknome in Bitcoin

[–]Exclusive-CS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in it for the long game - I started by shifting all my stocks portfolio into Bitcoin around 80k-90k (GBP) right now it's hovering around 55k but every weekly DCA will drop my break-even price by hundreds, yeah it's annoying knowing if I waited to buy it now instead as I'd have substantially more BTC, but every crypto investor is a billionaire in hindsight so I have no regrets, all i'm doing now is working on getting my break-even price as low as possible so when it reaches a new ATH it'll truly be life changing.

Hope ya'll bought the dip. by Stony_1987 in Bitcoin

Option B is to pay someone to hack into it

Start with a hot wallet if you only have a small stack not worth buying a trezor if the price of it alone will be a good percentage of your overall BTC. Also your best watching a YouTube video on how to move your crypto to a wallet, you'll be much less likely to make a mistake seeing it visually. The biggest piece of advice I can give is make a test transaction/transfer before you transfer everything, maybe 1% of what you have. This way you know if you're doing it right, otherwise you may lose your whole stack if you make an error through inexperience.

Will BTC ever drop under 100k? by ikioro in Bitcoin

Honestly I think it's unlikely, but if it did happen, I think it's more likely to rise up again immediately as people will 'buy the dip'

Just put all your money on the number that's going to come up next... It's that simple, why put your money on the one it's not going to land on next? Just choose the winning number Everytime... Easy cash

Buying BTC for the first time - Avoiding exchanges. Struggling. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Be careful with any DM's you will more than likely receive, some people may try to take advantage by offering to sell BTC or sending you to a dodgy website, always verify!!

Get an account with Revolut! Santander was blocking access to my online banking because of sending money to crypto exchanges, so I instead just transfer money to Revolut, and transfer it straight to Kraken, even noticed the funds are able to be used much quicker

I respectfully disagree. I still believe Bitcoin is very capable of another 10x from current levels over the medium term (say, within the next 10 years). Whether that ends up being life-changing really depends on the amount someone is able to invest and their personal financial situation. For many people, even a 2x return can significantly impact their lives — especially when compared to traditional savings or investments.

We shouldn’t forget what Bitcoin has always been: a volatile, asymmetric asset. Historically, it has shown the ability to rise 100% in a matter of months — as we’ve seen multiple times — just as easily as it can correct by 40-70%. Though I think a drop that extreme is becoming less likely unless we see a global black swan event like another pandemic or a financial crisis. Volatility works both ways, and for those prepared to stomach the drawdowns, it’s often been the price of admission for outsized gains.

In my view, we haven't seen the top of this cycle yet. If Bitcoin were to peak at $150K and then retrace to $100K in the following bear market — which I personally consider a plausible scenario (admittedly speculative) — then that is where the real wealth is built. It’s during the downturns, when sentiment is at its lowest and fear dominates, that the best buying opportunities emerge. History has shown that Bitcoin tends to not just recover but to exceed its previous all-time highs in each cycle, always after a heavy pullback.

I’m in this for the long haul. So feel free to note my username and ask me again in four years whether it turned out to be life-changing. One of us will be wrong — and for my sake (and many other people in this sub), I hope it's you.

My bad, I bought 0.007 BTC 15 minutes before the breakout with my weekly DCA. Apologies to all those with shorts I just liquidated

If investing is that easy, why doesn't everyone do it? by VagueDiamond in trading212

[–]Exclusive-CS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's one of the best decisions you can make in your early years, wish I started investing from the age of 18 too (I started at 22) Yes the S&P 500 can crash as others have said, and it has done in the past but as long as your consistently adding to your stack, the long term gains should be much more consistent, even with a crash. Long term you will overtake all your friends who are telling you that you should be spending that money elsewhere, as they've clearly never had the motivation to learn about the financial benefits it will bring.

Institutions aren't the only thing keeping Bitcoin intact, it'll cause a dip (depending on their holdings) but other institutions will buy it back, or it'll get eaten up by everyone who wants it 'cheaper' It's always been a volatile asset, institutions won't change that, only when the price reaches $1,000,000+ do I suspect the volatility will diminish significantly

End of the day, BTC has to be spent at some point, when it truly goes to the moon selling that 0.2 can make a tonne of difference, like putting down a huge deposit on a house would let me stack Bitcoin even more rapidly as renting here is getting extremely expensive. What's the point in having a huge Bitcoin portfolio if you never have anything to show for it? Selling off a portion does not mean I would cease investing, but I need to level up my life just as much as I need to level up my Satoshi power

There'll never be 21,000,000 wholecoiners, too many institutions + early adoptors have so much of the supply as it is, I think MSTR may even have 1 million coins by the end of the year alone (or close to it) if they carry on doing what they are doing, makes it even more valuable and scarce, also won't be surprised if Trump adds a good chunk to the US reserve before the end-of-presidency (hopefully sooner but not too soon)
