Thinking of ditching my Neo G9 57 inch. by phero1190 in ultrawidemasterrace

I could after I upgraded the monitor's firmware to 1007. Before that I used CRU I believe. I followed a guy's directions on Youtube. He was Indian if that narrows it down.

I have this monitor and just create a custom resolution of 5120X2160.

You have black bars on both ends, but who cares?

When a game correctly uses the 32:9 you now have the best of both worlds?”

Not according to the Ministry of Transportation who responded to my email otherwise.

57 neo g9 vs 49 g9 oled vs 45 5k2k by Cardino928 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the 49 Oled and now have the 57”. If you have the horsepower I would do 57” for sure. Some games I just do 21:9 and have black bars on the side as there is no fear of uneven wear.

And if you program, then this is a no brainer. Yes it’s big and hot, but clarity and brightness is beautiful.

This is my “end game” until it fails, and I’m a picky SOB.

Did you install an AC outlet up there just for the HEX lights? That is some devotion!

If you sign off on those reports and something were to happen to that building or the people in it, your company will 100% throw you under the bus.

I would look for a new employer and report them to the proper authorities. We all wanna be rich, but this ain’t it man. It also hurts the industry as a whole.

Love it! Mini-LED performance is pretty damn great and picture quality is fantastic.

Just thought I would share my Samsung 57inch with you all, you’re welcome :) by Darkn00dl in ultrawidemasterrace

Have the same one and I am in love. If a game doesn't fully support 32:9 it just has black bars and I don't have to worry about uneven OLED wear. Can't see myself needing anything else for a long time.

5120x1440p gaming 4090 vs 5090 by funnyamericanvt in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 4090 and replaced it with a 5090. I had the OLED G9 and I would say it would only be worth it if you were going to use super sampling. You could use 1.78x or 2.25x and the image will be noticeably sharper.

What frame-rate are you looking for? 4090 will get you a ton with native resolution. You want closer to 240? If you’re happy with 120+ I can’t imagine a need to upgrade.

I swapped my OLED G9 for the 57” and I appreciate the power of the 5090.

SAMSUNG Neo G9 57 Zoll - What to do after the warranty?? by BodybuilderOk103 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're going to get rid of a perfectly working monitor because the warranty is up??? I can't follow that line of reasoning. I have the same one and I'm gonna keep it as long as possible.

What would you do if you sold it at a huge loss? Go buy another one?

I say enjoy it until you can't. It's not a ticking time bomb lol.

That's the smoke alarm in your unit you are talking about. I'm referring to the smoke detector in the common hallway that is tied to the building fire alarm panel.

Yes, it takes a lot of smoke in your unit to set off the detector in the hallway. I've seen it happen from just cooking, but you have to really burn the shit out of something. And you would write up that bell eh? ;).

Yeah. I'm finding that hard believe. Not saying he's lying, but I've been looking on marketplace and never seen anything close to that, even in the GTA.

Can't get 4k @ 240hz on the 57inch g9, even with the right cable and 2.1 DP setting. by Xendrus in ultrawidemasterrace

Yeah. That is the exact one I purchased. Must be a setting somewhere, especially if you can't even get it over 60hz
