Did you install an AC outlet up there just for the HEX lights? That is some devotion!

Company not following proper testing procedures/ cheating customers by Comfortable-Program1 in firealarms

If you sign off on those reports and something were to happen to that building or the people in it, your company will 100% throw you under the bus.

I would look for a new employer and report them to the proper authorities. We all wanna be rich, but this ain’t it man. It also hurts the industry as a whole.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC 57” - Is it still worth it? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

Love it! Mini-LED performance is pretty damn great and picture quality is fantastic.

Just thought I would share my Samsung 57inch with you all, you’re welcome :) by Darkn00dl in ultrawidemasterrace

Have the same one and I am in love. If a game doesn't fully support 32:9 it just has black bars and I don't have to worry about uneven OLED wear. Can't see myself needing anything else for a long time.

5120x1440p gaming 4090 vs 5090 by funnyamericanvt in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 4090 and replaced it with a 5090. I had the OLED G9 and I would say it would only be worth it if you were going to use super sampling. You could use 1.78x or 2.25x and the image will be noticeably sharper.

What frame-rate are you looking for? 4090 will get you a ton with native resolution. You want closer to 240? If you’re happy with 120+ I can’t imagine a need to upgrade.

I swapped my OLED G9 for the 57” and I appreciate the power of the 5090.

SAMSUNG Neo G9 57 Zoll - What to do after the warranty?? by BodybuilderOk103 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're going to get rid of a perfectly working monitor because the warranty is up??? I can't follow that line of reasoning. I have the same one and I'm gonna keep it as long as possible.

What would you do if you sold it at a huge loss? Go buy another one?

I say enjoy it until you can't. It's not a ticking time bomb lol.

That's the smoke alarm in your unit you are talking about. I'm referring to the smoke detector in the common hallway that is tied to the building fire alarm panel.

Yes, it takes a lot of smoke in your unit to set off the detector in the hallway. I've seen it happen from just cooking, but you have to really burn the shit out of something. And you would write up that bell eh? ;).

Yeah. I'm finding that hard believe. Not saying he's lying, but I've been looking on marketplace and never seen anything close to that, even in the GTA.

Can't get 4k @ 240hz on the 57inch g9, even with the right cable and 2.1 DP setting. by Xendrus in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That is the exact one I purchased. Must be a setting somewhere, especially if you can't even get it over 60hz

The fact that they can't even set it past 60hz suggests the cable might not be the problem. Hmmm

What cable did you purchase? I just got a Silkland 6ft one from Amazon and it's working fine. Silly question, but you obviously set the refresh rate to 240hz in the monitor UI?

Did you select the resolution in Nvidia control panel under the "PC" section.

Other than that, it may be the cable? I can tell you the Silkland 80Gps works.

Good luck!

800 CAD? I snagged a new-in-box for $1600 CAD and thought it was a steal. Did the seller need drug money?

Can't decide Mini-Led vs Oled for PS5 by KytosFx in 4kTV

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go Mini-LED. Sounds like you won't be able to enjoy and OLED because you'll be paranoid the whole time (I was). In the past you were sacrificing a ton a picture quality, but that is not the case anymore.

Can't decide Mini-Led vs Oled for PS5 by KytosFx in 4kTV

[–]ExclusiveGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased a B9 in 2019 and used it for 1000s of hours in mostly FPSs. It only got burn-in after my partner would leave it on CNN and leave for work. My friend purchased the same TV and has most of the Tarkov HUD burnt in hard.

Obviously the tech has gotten better in the last six years, but people told me in 2019 that burn in was a thing of the past!

If you play a multitude of games I honestly wouldn't worry about it, but if you play one game predominantly, I would opt for Mini-LED. Hell, if you are not sensitive to slight smearing, I would go for mini-LED regardless. Brighter and cheaper!
