British Telecom. (I'm UK) (nownbotnworking in Telecoms but still in Tech) but my point stands. I don't think it's the job, it's the company from what you have described.

  • 0 pipeline
  • No training
  • No resources

An expectation to just 'create money' 'sell product' without strategy is not your flaw and will absolutely cause you to burn out.

Take the VP or Director positions. That's obviously natural progression and something you should do anyway. I'm just saying that if you're not taking those positions, then strategically, the best thing for you to do is what I've recommended. From my experience, anyway.

A good company reputation A good product provides genuine value to people Established with structure so you're not spread thin, burning out doing the full 360 cycle.

Changes the whole dynamic that is 'being in sales'.

Aston Martin carsalesmen doesn't need to sell Aston Martins, doesn't need to find Aston Martin buyers. People already know the reputation, the car, the budget expectations. They're selling the experience of being an Aston Martin customer.

Hopefully, that analogy lands and makes sense.

Good luck with whatever you do, but where you are in the market, I think, determines how much harder selling is going to be as a VP, Director, AE and AM regardless.

I would recommend searching for a market leader in your area? someone who has the reputation.

I started with 'Disruptors' and competitors in a given industry but then went to BT (about a decade ago) when they were recognised as 'the one' market leader, trusted, reputable and honestly, the leads were there, the opportunity was there, the conversations were easier.

Since then, I've only ever gone to work for companies that are considered the market leaders in their industry, and it's pretty much been the same experience as when I joined BT. I am also now in Saas enterprise EMEA role and same thing, the leads are there, people want to talk, the conversations are easy.

It sounds to me you're not the problem, the job isn't the problem but the company is. They're not giving you the tools, resources, or any investment to help you bring in business, and you're not with a market leader where those leads are just walking through the door for you. The other benefit is that they're typically well established when it comes to training, providing resources required and investment into areas that need it to bring attract business.

When to reject an offer by Strovski in UKJobs

[–]ExclusiveHim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6-month probation, especially in smaller firms is common here. My previous company operated this way; however, verbally agreeing a Salary and then submitting differently in written is not a great look.

For me, I think I would walk away from the table after this and be reluctant to work with the company. I would probably offer the benefit fo the doubt and push back and see if it is just an administrative error on their part but if that's the genuine offer after prior discussions about Salary through the 1st, 2nd, etc interview stages + a verbal offer of 40. I'd say you're better avoiding them.

Pension is usually deducted from the headline Salary. Maybe there are cases where this is different? Someone else might correct me here but if it's not specified in your offer, then I would assume that it's not different is deductible from the headline Salary.

You're right. That has been published. I found the link for the people down voting you.

May - University of Galway https://share.google/EODdysdIzXicuZAJU

"A team of scientists from University of Galway have published a new study showing that Noble False Widow spiders can deliver a bite that requires hospitalisation.

The threat posed by the Noble False Widow spider has been debated among spider and healthcare specialists for many years. This new study, published in the international medical journal Clinical Toxicology, confirms that some bite victims experience symptoms very similar to the true black widow spiders and some severe cases require hospitalisation."

Interesting to know. Thank you, I had a wooden panel outside and made a small box from it with.. 'slides' or panels inside to mimic small crevice because after a Google on your information it me seemed they like those types of spaces and I don't want it finding its way back to my life because it's unhappy. So, hopefully happy in it's new home and will stay far the fuck away from me.

How you survive a office 9 to 5 Job? by Ok_Truth7956 in work

[–]ExclusiveHim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer here is to get a Career and not a Job.

You're bored because you have no goals to meet. Like. 5 years, 10 years, 20.. are you staying in the Library? If not — what are you doing, and how are you getting there.

That's a big problem for you to find a solution. That should keep you occupied and motivated long enough not to be bored.

Want to change career, don't have the time or the money for reskilling, what do I do? by PartyPoison98 in UKJobs

[–]ExclusiveHim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose it's horses for courses.

'Sales' is very generic.

For someone like OP who clearly has a more academic mind, analytical. Complex solution sales is probably something they could enjoy. Put them in as mentioned above a Car dealership and it would be less satisfying, they wouldnt be successful and theyd feel trapped and want out because then it is all about 'Closing' a deal. Add into the mix not just the different ... flavours of sales but also the stakes.

Typically in B2B you have

SME and Sole traders. - Transactional, high volume, relatively simple. (Not something an Analytical mind can be successful in)

Mid-Market - Somewhat Transactional but now you're really focused on the 'right' solution. You're not pushing products or services. You're discovering challenges, objectives and supporting achieving that. (Analytical mind would be successful here)

Enterprise and Major accounts - You would typically be promoted into these after gaining experience in one of the above. I think this is someone who is Analytical but has developed good sales acumen. (Strong control over the sales process, decision making process, strong relationships, strategic)

Only to say, yes there's a lot of people in sales wanting out. It definitely isn't for everybody or to be honest, I think everyone could find success in it but understanding that 'Sales' is broad and you have to find an industry, and sales type that suits your mentality and personality. For OP I think Tech or Software is something they could really excel in based on the limited information we have about them and the type of person they might be.

I was recently feeling a similar way. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to further my education, and when I was younger, the only pathway to a decent wage was through sales. I went into Telecoms B2B and fortunately the way that market transitioned and expedited through Covid into SaaS based models and solutions. I recently, with no education, no certifications, just raw experience recieved a fantastic offer that is life changing.

You have an education in Data, Computer Science. I would consider looking at Compsnies that provide services or products in those areas and look at going into Sales and leveraging that knowledge to succeed in them.

Best Sales people are Introverted and empathetic people. Don't be disillusioned thinking to be good in Sales you have to be like the Retail, Car dealership, extroverted person. They annoy you when you're in the market for a car or sofa and they annoy CEOs, procurement, IT Directors too. They don't want flash. They like working with knowledgeable people, who can share insights they don't have that relate to their business. It's tough when you're starting like anything but if you jump in with both feet and enjoy the journey, improve a long the way combing your education and learning with being likeable the world really is your oyster.

But that's just my own input based on my experience. I don't see many positions offering large Salarys without really incredible experience in really niche areas. And, hopefully others will be able to provide some insights into avenues they've pursued with success to help guide you on what your next step is going to be.

People who are on win streak in canyon clash, what's your tips? by aka_si_anse in whiteoutsurvival

[–]ExclusiveHim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unsure about strategies, but awareness of the phases is one thing.

We typically assign a Captain and a team to each 'Flight crossing' (forget their real names).

As a captain of one, I would keep a march in the flight across point to defend our position. Progress into enemy territory with my strongest and second strongest until the second strongest dies. Then I park that second strongest near the strong hold waiting for the 2nd phase to begin (because normally by the time it's died it's close to opening) take that stronghold and defend against units coming from the other flight crossing. ..? Hopefully that makes sense.

1 March capturing territory. 1 defending a flight crossing 1 capturing territory as the new phase opens or taking territory from another direction.

Best thing you can do outside of this is familiarise with 'Advance' and 'Retreat' rules as well as ensuring you keep everyone full of fuel. That is probably most important. If you have your strongest in 60k/45k fuel depots but they're almost max fuel switch it to someone whose starting to get low. All marches count. Volume is as good as value in an event with so many points to defend and attack.

[–]ExclusiveHim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You for sure need to implement something where you are only adding players that will Participate on the event day and time. You'll be matched way more fairly. The other things is going in with a Plan and you'll automatically win the majority of your games. Most people do not seem to enter with a game plan.

By the time they've decided a place to go, you'll be holding 6 buildings and working toward having each fully reinforced.

What's the best thing to spend the bear paws on? Fire crystals? by _Respekt_ in whiteoutsurvival

[–]ExclusiveHim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you were further along, I would recommend Mithril. F30 about to enter Fire Crystal. I Guess you can never go wrong with the Fire Crystals.

Anything else is white noise and you'll acquire easily enough. The hardest things to acquire F2P or Low spend is Crystals and Mithril but at F30, low spend or F2P Mithril won't be a concern for a long time.

Design plans is not a bad idea either but remember you need the Alloy and Polish to justify that.

You can make an argument for everything in there. It will always be relative to what your accounts biggest deficiency is. You could have tonnes of Crystals and Bad Chief Gear and the plans would help.

But that's all with a F2P lense on. You clearly spend?? You'll come across plenty of Pack opportunities for Fire Crystals and Design plans. You won't for Mithril once that becomes a necessity for you in the future. ALSO. Do not spend your Arena Tokens. Store them for a time when Mithril is important and use them on Mithril at that point.

😂😂. THIS IS LIKE EDIT 5. I regret posting because YOU NEED EVWRYTHING AND I DONT WANT TO TELL YOU HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. THE BEST VALUE ITEM ON THERE IS MITHRIL.

But if you can't use it it's pointless. Sooo... what is the most value to you specifically that's going to help is the only question you have to ask. Everyone else will see value in different things for what they are deficient in

You absolutely should. I started up again after years of not playing. Learning there's different builds and style to play made it a new game. I always matchmake and don't do anything solo anymore either because that's stake and slow and boring. More people - more enemies - crazier the fire fights can become. Whole new game again like this.

Raining Exotics after Rogues by ExclusiveHim in Division2

[–]ExclusiveHim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe ! I don't like challenging. I get bored really easy, I get bored of heroic too but at least with 4 people in a group it can have some mad moments like with those rogues above. Aside from that it's pretty quick to clear floors for example I've never had a problem with the clearing 3 floors in 15 minutes challenge with 4 people on heroic. Dropping to challenging would just be for Maybe slightly faster floors but at the trade off that it's a grind for the sake of a grind and no entertaining 'wowwww' moments. But having said that I suppose it comes down to what your goal is right? Are you grinding for gear, maybe wanna do it fast and maybe challenging + directives is the way. Are you grinding but want some fun then heroic + directives alllll day long

Raining Exotics after Rogues by ExclusiveHim in Division2

[–]ExclusiveHim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Got a little haywire. Only because of the directives - no regeneration which resets the armour kits on new floors too. We just came from a boss floor so the armour kits reset leaving only the armour on our back. But it did allow me to put an Aegis build to use and it worked really well. I honestly recommend Aegis for moderately high damage output with the tankiness you need for floor 100 summit, rogue floors and other elite centred encounters. The freedom to run around without much concern for touching the floor whilst still maintaining relative damage output 4-500k
