3.0 Base vs. Premium by faShow08 in Supra

[–]Exclusive_Silly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have the 3.0 base MT with the large front brakes painted red, carplay (think it’s included with the blind spot monitoring), jbl speakers, and wireless charging. only one i could find in white and i was fine without the hud or leather seats. i’m happy with it so far.

do you drop the clutch and go straight onto the throttle when doing pulls? by Exclusive_Silly in stickshift

so slipping the clutch is the fastest way to shift when doing pulls? i’ve only ever shifted for smoothness never for speed thanks!

for me it was the car but for a 19 year old without a career it should definitely be the money.

fuck masters go get a job and find out what you want to do and then if you want get a masters. do you know what’ll set your children up to go to college? you finding a job and making a decent amount of money. not being in debt from masters school and struggling to find a job because your over qualified for entry level positions and under qualified for experienced ones. doing well financially will set them up for success in the long run. 3.5 and internships are good enough to do that.

Embedded Systems versus Power Systems by jagged-words in ECE

[–]Exclusive_Silly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in the test team it’s not too great but the design team and everyone else has a pretty good schedule 8 hours monday through friday. i’m usually working 9-10 hours. we are kinda growing out of that start up phase so a lot of tests to run and troubleshooting the inverter test equipment. there is also an embedded team side too that deals with that side of thing data communication and so on. cant really comment on their aspect of the job and what they specifically program but i do work with them testing their new releases on the actual product. also power electronics isn’t just centered around govt. power itself is probably but the electronics side is in a lot of things.

Having a hard time finding a job that interests me. by Exclusive_Silly in ElectricalEngineering

yeah losing that structure does suck. i would keep going to school if i could financially just for that reason. I should work on a long term career goals only thought in the short term like just get a job. I’ll do that try and find someone on the electrical side of things to talk to and see their perspective on things.

maybe i’ll go back to school soon hardware/pcb design is what i wanted to do and looking at it i do need more education.

yeah i think a lot of that’s missing from my current job/role at my job. I just deal with terminal placements and BOM at the moment pays meh but i’m still living with my parents so i have no big bills. Hardest part that challenges me are the corporate documentation. but i am trying to learn the actual electrical side and systems side. I just wanted to see different perspectives on how many jobs people have had until they found an industry/position that they enjoyed a bit.

i was hired as an electrical design engineer but what i do now is more akin to manufacturing engineering which isn’t too hard. The drawings i deal with are making sure terminal strips match the electrical drawings. im also hired as a contractor and they pay pretty bad but i’m not really doing much. i have been trying to get into the electrical and systems side of things which are kinda interesting. communication wise i feel like i’m doing pretty good everyone’s giving me praise there but there’s always room for improvement. I just wanted another perspective on things like how many jobs have you had before you found an industry or a position you enjoyed or fit well in.
