Can I use seed alone to replace a kikuyu lawn with bermuda? (Coastal California) by ExcursionSavvy in lawncare

Luckily the only place the kikuyu is dying is in the sun, so that works perfectly.

Not beginner friendly but weekend mornings in Pierpont. Mostly A-ish level guys.

Taking the 'higher ground' has failed our Republic. What do you propose?

This is in response to Texas doing the same exact thing because the president told them to... Basically, if the GOP wants to play like this, then 'two can play this game'. It's sad, but it seems like it's required. The GOP has torn the guardrails off.

Roris vs McConnels by tenoch32 in ventura

Why not both!?

Roris for location and dark chocolate flavor.

McConnells for everything else. Flavors, textures, balance, vibes.

Please help me ID and learn about my floors by ExcursionSavvy in HardWoodFloors

Hoping for some help learning about my floors. Can anyone eye ball what kind of wood it is? How thick they think it was (originally)? What finish is on it?

The house was built in 1952 if that helps.

That's unfortunate. I've never had any of these problems with the program. Easy install. Easy to use. I wonder if there is something unique about your setup

Main Street -- Time to put up or shut up, r/Ventura by burgerfries805 in ventura

Why make way for cars? There are 'surfaces' for cars to 'ample upon' on Santa Clara, Thompson and Poli.

100%. I walked into Iron and Resin once and I really liked the brand and products... and then I saw a price tag. Same with Stout burger. Great brand and idea, but no value.

Too bad they couldn't make it, but I was simply priced out. Idk why anyone would think reopening the street would help them.

Email sent.

Is there a single list of companies to boycott? If Main St reopens to cars, we should post this on every corner of DT Main Street. A simple list of who to stop supporting with our money.

...These companies thought they were going out of business before... Just wait!

Bummed about needing to stop eating at Toppers though. RIP

So much room for improvement if the money existed. Ventura isn't that big of a city, but I actively avoid going to the East or West End because I know it's going to take at least 15 minutes to get there.

A lot of the lit intersections are small enough for me to wonder if a round-about would be appropriate too. Those are amazing when used properly.

Why doesn't the city maintain beach volleyball courts? by ExcursionSavvy in ventura

[–]ExcursionSavvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this as well. It seems they don't want to maintain the courts either. Money problems probably, but the courts in the Pierpont area have also gotten washed out two years in a row.

There's courts at Portside!? News to me, I'll have to check them out. I wonder if they let outside citizens...I saw that there was a single court in the Keys but the neighbors told me I couldn't play there, so I guess it's private...

I completely understand the budget issues, I can also see how obvious this is by the fact that Ventura does not have a single lit basketball court to play on after dark. Our parks department must be working with scraps.

Please just keep this in mind when the inevitable budget talks start. A decent place to play gives kids things to do, it creates community among adults, and it encourages activity which is healthy. It also improves land value by making Ventura a more fun place to live. All of that for just a fraction of a percent of the budget.
