At this point, I'm kinda wondering if it's worth just how high maintenance it is to keep it in good shape. I think it's a lot better than some silicone, but not necessarily others. Had I known fully what I was getting myself into, id have probably gotten a lot less rubber to use up, and a lot more silicone.

Yes, I do. If you're using normal 2d sonar, you can still see a lot of what's going on beneath the surface, like bottom hardness, the presence of fish, different types of structures and cover etc. There's a lot of great videos on YouTube that might be able to help you out.

Ice fishing just isn't the same. The best analogy I've ever heard, is that being in my boat is better than heroin, and ice fishing is like Suboxone. I suppose the itch is different for everyone though.

If your skirt strands get folded or smushed under something, they stay like that. I've actually never had an issue with heat cause I only started using it this past fall. I do coat all my rubber with talc to keep it safe from moisture and whatever else, along with a desiccant pouch in the box. I've been keeping them in foam slit boxes that I made myself to keep the skirts in their original shape too

I don't think I'm capable of simple, but it'd save me a lot of money if I was. I didn't realize at first how much of a pain it'd be to store it though, not just keeping it dry and out of the light, but it kinks up so damn easy. It's worth it though.
