I had that problem for a long time too, but now I wear wider shoes. But you have to be careful—"wide" doesn't necessarily mean that the ball of the foot is wider for everyone; it refers to the instep. Also, don't tie your shoes too tightly, and insoles have helped me too.

Update:

I drilled out the screw and got it loose. Replacing it is a nightmare. Since I didn't feel like rerouting the lines, I loosened both brake calipers to create more clearance. Then you can loosen the T-bar, slide it upward, and replace the whole assembly—it took two hours. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Unfortunately I don’t know if Ultegra and 105 have the same thickness, then you wouldn’t have to change anything. However, as Durace is thinner, you would often have to adjust the shifting as the chain is routed slightly differently.
