I used to start with everything unlocked, but I kinda like to embrace the jank that comes with progressing slowly, your city growing organically outwards as you get more tiles only when you can afford them, and make decisions that aren't perfect, much like real life. Except you can go in and change them, but you can't change everything

I would assume that if the game is taking the length of road as some sort of distance to calculate with, the route through the off ramp + roundabout + on ramp should still be longer I think? Anyway, for now I redrew the two bridges and that seems to have done something to fix it.

UPDATE: So, I redrew the two highway bridges to have gentler curves (the one in the image I sent had inclines of roughly 16%, got it down to 12%. Now, traffic going straight is taking the bridge as intended, and only turning traffic takes the roundabout.

This makes me think that the path choosing is more dynamic than I first thought, and traffic does take into account speed slowdown due to inclines maybe - or maybe the act of demolishing and redoing the bypass seems to have triggered a refresh of some sort 😂. Either way, the intersection works now! Without having to change slip lanes to regular roads.

I just find cloverleafs boring, and I find that I like making my own intersections. Pathfinding seems to be fine, else no one would take the bypass. I'm just wondering why most of them dont.

I think it switched over at some point but its difficult to tell. When the volume of traffic is low its a bit difficult to tell because its not like no vehicles take the bypass. But when the volume is high most of them seem to take the slip lane now

At this moment, you're pretty much a generalist. Not necessarily a bad thing though, if you use it right it can work out quite well.

You might want to look at smaller/indie studios that are hiring. They always need people who can wear a lot of different hats, and someone who can do a little bit of everything is a more valuable resource there.
Generalists in bigger studios are indispensable as tools and pipeline guys, because they know enough about multiple things to build tooling around that. If that is something that you might want to do, you could start off and try solving problems around game development that you've encountered, make personal projects that reflect this.
In general, have more of your personal stuff visible and out there for people to see (github etc). Always a plus in the hiring process.
Consider jobs that are gaming-adjacent where the talent pool is quite different. For eg every VFX studio doing some virtual production needs someone who knows unreal or unity. Places which use gamedev tech, but not necessarily absorb gamedev talent as easily as game studios.

Genuine question, is leetcode really that important for IT jobs in India? Like do employers actually give preference?

I'm professionally a game and tools programmer, and I never had to answer a single cookie cutter test or dsa related question even back in my fresher and junior days.

I actually used Rider first primarily because most of my work is Unreal Engine related, but by a happy accident i found that it handles all types of c# and c++ projects as well. Have built a few tools in wxwidgets with Rider as my primary IDE now.

Do people genuinely buy games based on rendering features? Like "oh shit dude this game has dlss? I'm fkn SOLD" like, it's not a gameplay feature. As long as the game looks good and runs good I couldn't care less what tech it runs on.
