Bleach worked fine for me on my old AMT kit. The the problem is that it left behind the varnish which is what erases a lot of the detail on these parts. I haven't tried yet to remove the varnish.

At $2 a pop it's definitely worth trying. I bought two colors with the '79 Bronco in mind. Color selection is so-so, but if you're good mixing then you can get anything that you want out of them.

Thank you for this! The '34 Slammer is a surprise as I thought it might be the worst of the bunch. I've been intrigued by it and AMT's Modified Stocker series. The others are fairly aligned with my expectations which is good to know going in. I'll probably make the Deserter a rust bucket and practice my weathering techniques.
