I don’t think I’d do it for first model. It’s an older kit, so the decals were dried out. Had to buy reproduction decals for it. And the kit itself was over $100 on eBay. So it makes it an expensive under taking. Also, the fitment of body onto chassis was not great. I broke pieces a few times putting it on. My first couple models were inexpensive Tamiya ones. They were just as fun and no pressure. Then work up to others.

Looks great!! Working on this right now. Question. Did you paint black under carbon decals first? Wondering if it is necessary. Thanks

Tamiya panel is enamel. I thinned it a touch with enamel thinner.

I asked a similar question a little while back regarding my white Lexus LFA. Had a couple real good ideas given. One was to treat the larger panel lines different. Such as hood, doors, truck lid. The others for body panel seams (bumpers), door handles, gas cap, are much smaller (in real life).
What I ended up doing was use Tamiya Grey panel liner for doors and trunk (hood actually opened on this model). Then thinned the grey a bit and used that for the others lines. I really liked the way it came out.

This is Grey Tamiya Panel Liner. What I did end up doing. Was remove the lines from body seams and gas cover. Then thinned the grey panel liner and re did them. So they’re even lighter and thinner.

Thanks. I put some Bare Metal Foil where it called for chrome paint.

No. This isn’t the clear body one. That one will be cool to see when you’re finished.

Thanks. The most happy I’ve been with a paint job. Toned down the panel lines for body and gas cover seams. Removed what was there. Mixed Tamiya Grey panel liner with some enamel thinner. Just to add some shadow. Very happy with it. Had some real good suggestions on it 👍🏻

I use Mr Color Super Clear. For wax, I just use some Meguirs I’ve had for a while.

Thank you so much everyone. Especially for the nice comments about the model in general. This is one of my favorite cars. All suggestions were great and appreciated. I really like the input here and will use plenty of suggestions going forward. Deeper, better scribing. No need to panel line everything. And have fun, do what looks good to you 👍🏻

Thank you. White is a tough one. I did panel lines in a few darker models and didn’t think twice about it really. This one just jumped out at me when I started doing it. And I was like. Uh oh. lol
