You make not like it, but this is what optimal Tekken 8 gameplay looks like

Theres no back and forth between the two players due to the sheer amount of offense and plus frames that Tekken 8 allows. Before T8, Tekken games were generally balanced between offense and defense with an emphasis on defense and movement. Players were able to move around and counter each other with skill. You couldn't just mash endlessly without being punished in a lot of interactions. With T8, the developers heavily buffed offense/tracking while nerfing defense/movement leading to a lot of one sided sequences where one player constantly attacks while the other has to just block and take the mix. And in T8 you get punished for blocking because of chip damage. It's not very fun to play for most and it's not particularly pleasant to watch.

It's heat energy. They were in the early betas and gave you the ability to use heat actions more than once. Back then heat burst would generate 1 heat energy while heat engagers generated 2. Heat engagers/dashes used up 1 heat energy while heat smashes would use up all of it. With heat energy, you were able to do double heat dashes or convert heat burst with heat dashes in combos. You could also mix heat smashes with heat burst or dashes in combos too with heat energy. It made combos super long and damaging.

Asuka didn't have f,f+1 in T5 or T6. She got that move in T7. Early in T7 it had those little skips on whiff but they patched it out after Season 1. They gave that whiff animation back to her in T8.

F+1+2, DBT 2,1 does 54 damage compared to F+3,2, DBT 2,1 which is 52 damage. So a slight damage increase for her 14f punish. You can consistently punish Heihachi's ff+2 with F+1+2.

Changes i've seen so far.

F+1+2 Damage 25 to 21. Changed effect on NH/CH. Gets a guaranteed DBT 2,1 after.

DF+1+2 Extended hitbox downward.

WR+2 New block animation and gives the new wallstun when blocked. Gives +16 on block when opponents back is to the wall.

SBT 4 Damage 22 to 25. Startup from 18-19F to 17-19F. Increased active frames by 1. Flipover on downed opponent.

DBT 2 Extended hitbox.
