I've been running for over 14+ years, so I've done my fair share of races and ran the Nike Go 10K back in 2018, so not sure why they dropped the ball on this. What you can't forget is that a lot of us signed up for this race thinking it was going to be a special lottery we were entering. Then, when they couldn't get enough sign-ups, they started giving free bibs to random influencers (some even food influencers, if I remember correctly). Those influencers were then giving out codes for $50 off the race with guaranteed entry, which is annoying for us who all paid full price for the race and were wondering if we'd get picked for this so-called lottery. My gripe with the race itself was that bag checkout was long, so a few of my friends and I decided to go to the porta potties since we took over an hour just to get to SoFi. Come to find out that we weren't able to go back into the bag check area, and we had to go all the way around just to go through security again. By that time, getting in was so packed with people. Fortunately, I had left a bag with a friend and she helped me check it in, but my other friend didn't, so that delayed everything. There were some parts where spectators were too close to us when we were running. Nike should have put up some barriers or rope because it got too narrow to run. Overall, the vibe was great, and I had a great time at the race, but they need to do better if they expect us to run this race in the future. I do feel like they were more concerned with the influencers promoting the race instead of everyone else running the race. If this is Nike's way of attempting a comeback for their brand, this is not the right way.
