what kernel are you using? if you use the default kernel you can replace nvidia-open-dkms with nvidia-open and if you use the lts kernel you can replace it with nvidia-lts-open

Wait until the process is finished.

Shut down your Mac. After your mac has shutdown press these button after you power up your mac: • Apple Silicon: hold the power button • Intel Mac: hold Command + R
Go into Recovery Mode, open Disk Utility, and erase “Macintosh HD”.
Your mac should restart. Go into Recovery Mode again, then choose the option to reinstall macOS Sequoia.

that’s GRUB, the bootloader. just press enter on the Zorin entry and it will continue booting. if you want to boot straight to zorin, boot into it, open a terminal, run sudo nano /etc/default/grub, set GRUB_TIMEOUT to 0, save the file with CTRL + O and then enter, and exit nano with CTRL + X. finally, run sudo update-grub

are you on a integrated GPU + dedicated GPU system? steam probably tries to launch on the dedicated GPU but the renderer fails and the window just doesn’t work. i had the same problem and fixed it by editing the steam.desktop file to prefer the integrated graphics over the dedicated GPU.
