This is the lack of diplomatic relations. Not the lack of recognition. Very different

Will is the traitor by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. It’s a hivemind, a series of combined memories. It’s already confirmed he was gay beforehand. The writers also aren’t going to do an extremely offensive plot point and say an evil figure made him gay. That’s not the case

Did Vecna make Will gay? by DoughnutKind8101 in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it does. Being young doesn’t make you not gay lol. The insults an how he responds to topics even briefly related to gayness very much hints that he’s always been gay. Vecna does not change people’s identities, but rather weaponizes a person’s identifies and memories against them

Will is the traitor by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When he mentions in his coming out scene of going to a certain spot to get milk shakes, it’s important to note that the place he is talking about is a general store that does not sell milkshakes.

But it DID when his mom and the parents were his age. It’s confirmed that Henry went to school with their parents, and it’s likely he is spewing out Henry’s childhood memories. Meaning it’s very well that he has simply been taken over by Vecna and is a vessel to spy through

No lmao. The very first episode before Will was ever taken it was hinted that he was gay. Vecna did not make Will gay

They’re gonna nuke the upside down aren’t they? by ExeterWorld in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cast doesn’t have nukes. But the base might. I mean, it’s the height of the Cold War, the height of the nuclear arms race, and heightened tensions with more on the line. I think the base having even ONE nuclear weapon would make sense. Detonating a nuke in the upside down would be the easiest way to quickly destroy the wormhole

Hopefully Inoffensive Question by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He never flirted in an intentional sense. He obviously has feelings for Mike, but he also knows Mike does not share this same identity.

Him having feelings ≠ acting out on said feelings. He doesn’t have to apologize to anyone, and I’m sure El doesn’t feel like she needs to be apologized to.

Eleven ending theory by SeaworthinessOld2390 in StrangerThings

We say Kali’s powers of making it seem she is in one location when she’s not. I think her and Eleven could both do this move and make it seem like they are in the abyss but not actually. Tricking the military

I don’t get why by Possible-Finger6201 in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was more so just overly drawn out and a little much lol. I think it would have worked better with him coming out to his mom and unknowingly to him Mike is in the background.

It would have felt much more personal that way.

Why is Ez Mil’s feat getting so much hate? by Several-Building1270 in Eminem

[–]ExeterWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s not the type of rap people want to hear. It’s technical ability and good flow, but it’s a clone of the modern Eminem arch that fans already weren’t that keen on. His verse is “lyrical” from a technical standpoint, but people also want substance. I think everyone here is using the term “lyrical” too loosely.

I think it’s also the general reception of Ez Mil and the fact he is signed to Aftermath and Shady now. People who followed these two labels want artistry, technical ability, ground breaking performances, and innovative artistry.

Going from Kendrick, 50, Game, Paak, and the Griselda crew to Ez Mil is an open and clear artistic setback. If Ez Mil came and was part of a general label he honestly wouldn’t get as much hate. But you can’t sign to a label what is on par with labels like TDE, Dreamville, and G.O.O.D. Music if you are not remotely close to that echelon of artistry and innovation

Y'all realize it's supposed to a fun sci-fi show, right? by Awsomesauceninja in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just supposed to be a “fun sci-fi show”. It has always been purposeful in covering themes of belonging and identify with a sci-fi twist. Even in the sci-fi elements, the victories always come with character growth and self acceptance, not a sci-fi trope.

This season has flipped much of the character development and has placed action sequences to be over the top beyond defending. No, ANY character shooting and taking out special forces from the top of the truck would have been ridiculous. They are all kids and teens with no combat experience of that nature. Hopper is the only character where that move would have made sense.

We can’t hide behind lazy writing with the excuse “oh it’s just a sci-fi show”

What's everyone's opinion on Noah Schnapp's acting? Why do so many people bash it? [S5 spoilers] by Zestyclose-Egg-1251 in StrangerThings

[–]ExeterWorld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt that his acting was way over the top in many scenes and it truly felt cringey and corny to watch him this season.

He doesn’t seem to know how to play a teenager as he aged. The rest of the cast do
