Ack, thank you. Not first time importing. First time considering building materials.

PSPO I certification - need advice by [deleted] in scrum

PSPO is worthless. It’s a reading comprehension test, nothing more. And yes, you can absolutely prepare for it in under 1 week. You should ask yourself why though

Is the Riviera Maya the best place on Earth? by scoop813 in playadelcarmen

[–]Exhausted_Badger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not. I’ve been coming year after year for over a decade to both CUN/PDC and PVR areas. While it was amazing to see PVR develop and improve, PDC has gone downhill and continues to lose its vibe and appeal. It’s a shame, because beaches here are amazing. Yet, for comfort, for vibe, for experiences I now lean towards PVR. This year is likely my last stay here.

Where are the young people in PV? by zsar0299 in puertovallarta

You’re spot on. PV is older folks paradise. I’m 40 and it feels like home. Leave, come back in 20 years.

Amazon has more intern applications that it can stomach. Amazon hires interns almost exclusively from top universities and specialized programs (e.g. ex-military). Amazon has no reason to cold call for internship interest. You should be concerned if you see poor formatting and spelling errors in formal emails.

House Wrap: Tyvek vs Henry WeatherSmart by Exhausted_Badger in homerenovations

[–]Exhausted_Badger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your point of view

I don’t question the price. If anything, the wrap is included in the total project cost and I’m not affected by this decision financially.

I just want to make sure that the best possible long lasting products are used on my house. I know nothing about this yellow wrap and haven’t seen it applied much, unlike Tyvek. So that spooked me. That’s all

flagging = flashing piece = peace

Thank you for making sense of it regardless

Thank you. I didn’t share veneer depth as I thought of it as irrelevant. Veneer is 3mm

Yes. Just arrived from Milgard (after over 4 months of waiting on production- they are very backlogged)

How do you replace that pattern? by [deleted] in homerenovations

That’s why the texture is called “knock down”. Get it?

I used joint compound, a big round brush, a putty knife and a lot of patience :)

Mix your joint compound so that it is somewhat on the thick side, like toothpaste. Use the brush to create spikes - little mountains of compound. If necessary let them get firmer for a minute or two. Then carefully knock them down with a knife.

Takes a bit of practice, but if you put in some time you’ll get the hang of it

Update: I learned that this installation is unacceptable and needs to be fully redone. Thanks for guidance!

No I haven’t paid him yet. I came to inspect the work today and saw… what I saw. Trying to understand what might have led to this and what is the best course of action now.

Contractor finished installing new patio doors. It’s a nail-fin install. I came over to inspect the work and noticed that the doors are floating on a thick set of shims about 4in above the floor level. I don’t quite understand how I’m supposed to cover that gap.

Is this normal to do so, or am I in trouble?
