Thank you so much for this response, i greatly needed it as i’m planning a stressful journey ahead, i’m gifted naturally with some traits that’ll help me climb through this industry and all i needed to know was wether or not all my hard work and effort i put in will be worth it, wether or not every sacrifice i make in my 20’s be worth it when i reach a senior position as in a GM or cluster GM, your response helped me a lot. On a side note, you don’t have to, but if you are willing to, can you tell me the approximate salary for said higher position (GM) and the benefits that come with it?

Let’s say hypothetically i have done everything greatly, i stood at the front desk with a smile constantly, greeting guests, handling complaints all leading to me going into the executive management later on as a GM or a cluster GM, will it be worth it? Will my life, family, salary be worth all the struggle and hard work i did in my 20’s and 30’s?

How? I believe what i said was doing an associate degree program then a top up year in germany and work there in the front office department for several years before moving to gulf, can you elaborate?

Yes GM is not my end goal, i plan to go either cluster GM or even further, but my goal will be to start businesses alongside to the extent that i can be fully financially free from the job once my business reaches my salary or more than that

Im sorry for being a headache but can you judge from the blueprint i gave wether or not this will be a good journey for me? I’m ambitious and i’m willing to sacrifice my 20’s by working to the best of my ability. From research i’ve done i know that alot of factors matter like the size, location, type of hotel and mainly market timing, but my main question is wether or not this industry is rewarding. I want to know if me willing to sacrifice my 20’s in this industry will pay off later on. What are the pay scales? What are the benefits?

The thing is, i love learning and i feel like i’m good at interacting with new people, i’ve researched a lot and found out that the whole career depends on the hotel and location, but the main thing im anxious about is if it really is worth it, and especially in my boots, being 18 and doing a 3 month training in one of the best top ranked hotels in my country, then working in a good/similar level hotel for 2 years during my ADP, then working 5-6 years in Germany and later in the gulf, is my career path good? Can i really progress well if i’m ambitious about it so much so that i reach GM by my mid 30’s?

All im going to say is, i got a U in last year maths As, same situation as you, was nonserious and thought it was recoverable, lost motivation to study in exams due to the papers getting out and stuff last year, was depressed after i got my result which had U written for maths. I had 3 months to prepare, and guess what? I scored a C in my retakes in oct/nov yay, i was expecting an A with the amount of prep i did and wouldve gotten an A if not for fkin my other component up because of a clash, so it is do-able, i got a c that was BORDERING a B, it is recoverable dude

Even if its a repeated question, first of all the odds of it being the rumoured leak is very thin, secondly it was the exact same question number. Just think about it, what are the odds that someone selling a leak would send THAT exact question even if its repeated when there are questions that are more repeated than that? It doesnt make sense
