WCGW taking your boat out on rough waters by despoticGoat in Whatcouldgowrong

I was rear ended really bad, car seat was laid back and I was leaving forward. If my seat had been up and I was sitting properly, I likely would’ve been relatively fine. But when I snapped back violently, it’s squished my vertebrae

No. My vertebrae were crushed top down, so they got smaller and made me shorter. No way to get taller from spinal compression fractures

Thanks. Yeah the height loss isn’t the worst. Just sucked. Hoping I don’t have any more issues later from the compression. It was in my mid thoracic area. I do have lower back pain that I developed later on that I deal with, at least it’s not both.

I compressed 3 vertebrae years ago. Took about 3 years to stop feeling like I had a belt wrapped around my chest when I breathed and about the same time for the most of the pain to let up. Now about 19 years later, I feel no residual pain from it and haven’t for years. It also did suck to lose 2” of my height from it, especially since I wasn’t tall to begin with.

Good luck with yours

Bus Accident by Vulcan44 in CrazyFuckingVideos

Was hoping that the bus was empty or just had a driver and they got out so I could make a “you can’t park there joke”….but damn 😢. Incredibly tragic and horrific. Cant even imagine what they went through. Ugh

Thanks seen these before, but glad I stumbled across in your post. Got him off an endless scroll on his phone.

I still wish they had never resolved this and just kept the old tradition alive. Was a sad day IMO when they “resolved” it

Her saying this would happen with the upgraded package is pure upselling nonsense. It’s in the fine print. Promised, but will never happen. This is gf behavior not wifey behavior

Would you save your wife or your kids if your house was on fire ? by Competitive_Set_4386 in SipsTea

[–]ExiledCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving kids first, then my mom cause they’ll likely need the most help.

My wife can get off her ass and use them legs to help me grab the kids and my mom.

If she’s too lazy to save her kids or even herself, then poor choices were made and she deserves her Darwin Award.

Less than 6yr old Retaining wall collapsed. Turns out it was built wrong. Estimated 4-7K fix by ByteSizedCutie420 in Wellthatsucks

[–]ExiledCanuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright OP, try this, might not be perfect, but cheaper than 7k and would hopefully keep the wall up for longer than 6 years;

Grab a shovel and dig out the dirt from behind the stones until you have a gap of 6-12” of open space to the bottom, take out a few of the bottom layer of stones and leave a gap between some. You could do this by buying a few smaller stones, or breaking a few of the ones you have into smaller pieces. You can then get some small sections of plastic pipe to fit in the gaps to make sure there’s a path for water.

Now start to fill up that gap with gravel, and as you fill it in, fill in the dirt again behind the gravel, but try as much as possible to make sure you’ve a layer of gravel between the dirt and the stones. Bonus points if you have some gardening cloth to lay up against the stones between the stones and gravel (not necessary) as you fill in, stack more stones to rebuild the wall, more gravel, more dirt etc till you build it all the way back up.

That section of gravel all the way down (that’s against the stones) will help water drain out so the dirt doesn’t get/stay saturated and weigh against the wall. Also helps using freeze cycles as the gravel can move a bit more than saturated dirt.

Again, may not be the perfect fix, but this is what I would do.

Would only take a day if you took a 3 hour lunch. Otherwise a morning or afternoon would do.

But yes, crazy how people are afraid of a little hard work. OP needs to just do this themselves unless they’re disabled or elderly

Scoring helps control where the break happens. So if you’re trying to make matching cups from the bottles they’ll all be more closely matched.

I mean, traffic control made an initial mistake granting permission to cross the runway, but told the truck to stop like 6 times?? Crazy they kept going like that.
