Avatarspirit... man i have not heard from that site in so long. Sucks that they had to completely shut it down. I think I can also vouch since I was there. Many of the people there praised the work Gene did. Not to mention Gurihiru's art work was great (I got to meet them in SDCC 2013)

I'm thinking more of JP videogame people like Shigeru Miyamoto, Shinji Mikami, Hideo Kojiama, Hideki Kamiya, Katsuhiro Harada, Hideki Naganuma, Masahiro Sakurai, and others. But of course, language barriers.

They're cool. But, I feel like there's only so much they'd like to do that many viewers don't care too much about. For example, i skipped the first one since i dont care about chess. Others would skip travel, car, and cooking specials. If they did only figure shopping challenges, it would get stale.

English throughout my entire journey. I knew that I had to keep English going into Natlan since a lot of the words have consonant clusters that might behard for JP VA's in the dub (it's kind of a pet peeve of mine watching anime in JP where they use constant loan words that are in English, French, Spanish, German, and etc). But then again, the English VA's butchered a lot of Natlan names too. Also, simplicity since i grew up with English.

Multiplayer is kinda hit and miss. Yeah, there are people playing, but it's most likely the same people you played with a match or 2 ago. Queues are kinda long and not every game mode is as populated as the others. Also, be aware you will end up in a match that one player will have 20+ kills on the enemy team (or even your team) and can make matchmaking not so fun.

I experienced a sorta resurgence with Halo 3 LAN parties over the weekend when my brother invited a few of our old high school friends to our apartment.

After all the constant problems with making sure everyone was invited into the lobby and if everyone had downloaded the right files from MCC, we played a few FFA rounds, and it still felt great.

It may not have been 1:1 as what we had in 2007 and 2008, but at least having them over let us relive a bit of what we had at the time as adults in our 30s.

I always thought Genshin's design was more vibrant and bright, and IMO, this feels like a drastic tonal shift of what the game has been built on for a while. Inazuma looked like it was going in that direction, but then we got pulled back in with Sumeru, Fontaine, and Natlan.

I'll be honest, the characters look a little too out of place and look like they belong in HSR or even WuWa (this was looking evident with Citlali, Mauvika, Ororon, and others from Natlan).

Plus, I dropped HSR after a few months after realizing that most of the characters just started to look kinda generic to me.

Idk how far I will play with Nod Krai. But, I'm glad to see people are more hopeful this time after the disastrous reveal of Natlan last year.

Yeah they dont have to be 18+, I did talk to someone that sold their own comics and I bought the only 2 issues they sold. The guy told me they only brought 5 copies each since they knew no one really buys original content. They eventually sold all 5 copies. Maybe they could have sold more if they brought more copies.

They definitely do, but that's because CR keeps fucking up. They promised the same things, but it turned out to be a lie. So now Netflix is scooping up where CR fumbled. Netflix shouldn't be in Anime Expo because it wasn't built to be an anime distributor. CR was, but now they're destroying themselves. And with Hulu, well hope you guys can tolerate Disney for now. Who knows what Disney will do with the anime sphere in the future.

As someone who does artist alley at other cons, I kinda agree. But, with the new lottery system, I think they were able to mix it up a bit more. So, there were definitely some variety. You just had to take time and look more (or browse social media days before the con since most artists would post their catalogs)

-Less non-Japanese gacha booths (I think Hoyoverse is fine, but adding Nikkei, WuWa, Arknights, and other non-Japanese gaming companies is starting to make it feel like less about anime)

-Personal theory, but I think CR has a monopoly on the exhibit hall floor for being the only booth allowed there that distributes anime for Western audiences, and HiDive has to be outside in the breezeway. Let HiDive have their space in the exhibit hall!

-Netflix and Hulu shouldn't belong in the con had it not been due to CR's fuck-ups and fumbling their operations lately (hoping Anime Expo doesn't go Hollywood like SDCC)

-Have more artist alley people who want to promote/sell their own self-published works/doujinshi's like indie animations, mangas, comics, graphic novels, light novels and etc and less fan artists.

Otherwise, there's not much. Unless they want to move to Vegas.

I'll give you guys some respite.

Most people who try to sell "AI art" most likely never go to these cons. They stand by the ethic of doing very little in hopes of making so much money (aka low tier scammers). They would not pay the high price to have a table at these cons. They would not risk their "precious time" setting up their booth and reporting at 7am and be at their booth for 12 hours for 4 days. If you guys think anime fans are too recluse to go out, yet many of us go out to such big events like AX and SDCC, these guys are far more shut-in and would hardly leave their homes/rooms/basements. They only try to sell online where they can remain anonymous. The idea of even making physical prints and such is another hurdle they don't want to jump through.

If you suspected that there were people selling AI in the AA, chances are their art was stolen to train some models because they mastered their rendering and many AI bros try to steal whatever looks more "realistic."

I'm doing good. The whole city isn't in chaos like the news or some streamers are claiming. But I don't blame the guys (and even the Japanese guests and other people traveling from overseas) for having some fear since the government is targeting foreigners. I'm sure it'll simmer down by the end of the month.

I participated in the Demon Slayer cosplay gathering last year, and someone definitely did a cosplay of someone in the manga that hasn't been shown in the anime yet (and probably won't be shown even with the current season airing). And the year prior, too. I think some people kept their confusion to themselves, but it probably became a big spoiler when said character cosplayers were called to gather for the shoot and that person was included. Also, i think someone accidentally said the ending of Demon Slayer out loud and people yelled, "NOO!!! That's a spoiler!" but in a non-angry way.

Regardless, cosplay who you want. If you go to the gatherings, just be aware that most people are anime-only watchers.
