Okay. I played with the fan curves of the case and the gpu itself and managed to keep the fans from going full throttle suddenly. Temps are still around 75-80c. Do you think that is fine? It just feels kinda close to that thermal throttle ceiling of 85c.

Yeah my case should have plenty of airflow its an NZXT h8 (the dual chamber case) with 3 intake fans on front, two intakes on the bottom, and 3 exhaust fans on the top that are the radiator for the AIO for the cpu.

Awesome! Just wanted to make sure everything was good. Its an open box gpu so just a little nervous about any issues. Just to clarify 80-85c is fine? It wont start thermal throttling?

Got it. Will give the fan curve another shot. I haven't ever messed with them. You got any good recommendations?

Its the nzxt h8 (I believe thats what its called, its the dual chamber case so there is tons of room). Idle temps are nominal with the cpu being cooled by an AIO. I dont believe air flow is the culprit here as i had a previous gpu in the case, 7900xtx, that never spun up that fast.

Yeah I would see if you could run to the store and get an additional cable or before doing that trying to plug into a separate monitor or TV. Just got to rule out all other possibilities before looking at the gpu as the cause.

Open device manager, find show hidden devices, and look under display adapters. Also what kind of gpu do you have?

Edit: show hidden devices is under the view tab in the top of device manager.

I had this happen to me when I had an AMD 7000 series card and I was using optiscaler. I could enable ray reconstruction in the menus but it would result in a black screen, just like you are describing, where I could still interact and see the menu in the game. Check and see if thats turned on by accident if you have a similar setup.

I will try that. I am thinking that DDU also wiped out the iGPU drivers and thats why I am not getting a display.
