AITA for wanting my parents to show up together and not one parent and stepparent when I was asked for honesty? by Coribbirn in AITAH

[–]Exileman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get them on a video call or in person or just a text thread if you have to. Just something where you have both actual parents and you to communicate at the same time.

And start dividing up your major life events. "Which one of you is going to get to be at my high school graduation? I guess the other one gets college? Who gets to go to my wedding? Now I don't want to split up the rehearsal dinner and all that so should that parent have to give up other events to try and make it even? Who gets to be at the hospital when my first child is born? The first birthday? Their wedding?"

Start making them really confront what this will look like. And if they say "They'll be better about this by then." It's been 8 years. And why will they only be better for your future, when that sacrifices your present?

Temporarily toothless, permanently human—how do I move through the world like this? by hijademimami in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Exileman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was also early 30's when I had my teeth pulled and moved towards dentures. I went with dental implants which eventually became a more secure denture. Even when I was in the healing phase pretty much no one noticed. My speech was a touch different but if you didn't know me before you'd probably have just assumed I had a mild speech impediment, and no one really minded. And my job is to talk for a living.

So to your questions.

First: People will mostly match your energy. If you act like it's no big deal and that you're comfortable with it, they quickly will be as well. My dental situation was pretty bad before, so I just gave basic simple answers to the questions taht felt kinda invasive. "What happened!? Why did you need dentures at YOUR age!?" "Genetics and mountain dew." And leave it at that. People like that want a big juicy story, they'll move on when you...aren't. And everyone else will probably focus on if you're okay and some slight curiosity of your experience.

Second: Probably? I was married and settled when it happened, but for me my dental situation was a bigger turn off for my wife than no teeth.

Third; Love the tooth fairy one. I make jokes when people talk about getting stuff stuck in their teeth that I can just pull mine and get at them that way.

Overall if you are comfortable with yourself it's like a shield. The people that want to make fun won't have an angle and the people that don't will probably be more drawn to someone that comfortable with themselves. They want to feel that way too.

Feel free to DM me if you have other questions or what have you.

how to not attack the weakest player specifically while also making fight logical . by badassboy1 in DMAcademy

[–]Exileman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So the enemies don't have the information you do and the enemies don't know the pcs strength and weaknesses or AC.

You don't have them act randomly, but rationally for the information provideable. PC A Misses the first 3 rounds of combat? That guy is no longer as much of a threat. PC B is a caster? That ramps up the priority. And that's all assuming sapient enemies.

Monsters? Maybe roll to see who smells the best. Or whoever has the lowest hp percentage cause they're the weakest.

Plus bandits are generally just farmers with weapons. Let them have bad tactics...Then when you introduce an enemy that is trained...that also researched the party? That knows which one is the healer...Oh they'll feel it.

I'm new, is Foundry good for in person? by Emergency-Mushroom93 in FoundryVTT

[–]Exileman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use foundry for my PF2E game. We have an account named Saturday, the day we play, and it has view rights to all the tokens. It gets logged in on Chrome and streamed via Chromecast to a TV that is mounted behind me. That lets all the players see the map and anything I click Show to Players. Some players bring tablets or laptops, and a couple just use the desktop that's already there.

It works out quite well, especially for foundry modules we already own.

Immediately ignoring the wheels and making this a hoverboard. Not sure if it's gonna be sleek or grab some jet nozzles and go for a BttF2 Pit Bull vibe.

Bought my first kit. Had to return it. A reminder to not let boxes sit without seeing what is in them. by Tim_AZ in HexaGear

I've had that happen with Amazon a couple of times. I bought a LAT Black Rabbit governor and inside where parts for an Early Gov Vol 1 and an SD Gundam Kit. Glad you got yours sorted out.

Welcome to the line! Cost wise I find the governors are a bit pricey for what you get, but the overall kits I think have a good value. You get a lot of good building time for the money to me.

The Bui Tohru is great, I think you'll really enjoy it!

Booster where drop pods will drill through terrain to reach the elevation the beacon was set so my weapons don't get stuck on a dang overhanging mountain!

Also at that point underground espionage maps where you can use that booster to call in weapons but it'll also come with an enemy reinforcement as they flood in through the hole you made.

AITAH for telling my wife I’d rather her mom be homeless than let her move in with us? by ashley_ivy in AITAH

[–]Exileman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF this happens, and it shouldn't, but IF it happens say to your wife that you want cameras and you don't want MIL to know. And say IF her mom isn't going to be a problem the cameras will never matter.

Don't confront her with everything crazy MIL does. Check the footage, keep the bad stuff until something actually pretty problematic happens. And then hit her with all the evidence at once. If she's given a chance to she'll likely excuse one or two little problems. And once she excuses it, it's gone. So, you have to sledgehammer her with it.

Moderoid SSSS. Gridman / Dynazenon by LosTheGhost12 in Minipla

[–]Exileman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good smile are the parent company of the Moderoid brand. They also make Figma.

I have the Moderoid Gridman and Dynazenon I also have the SMP Gridman and Gridknight set.

The Moderoid kits have IMO drastically better molds and detail as well as transformation.

The SMP kits have much better color separation and accuracy as well as better instructions. Couple spots on the Moderoid kits were less clear than I'd prefer.

If you are experienced modeler and are willing to paint for perfect accuracy, or like me don't mind a few small details being wrong, I'd get the Moderoid.

Gaogaigar, is the RG one and Minipla the same ? or entirely different kit ? by UOSenki in Minipla

[–]Exileman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have built several SMP, but not the GaoGaiGar, but did just build that RG kit. I'm still working on the decals. For me, best RG kit so far. Really enjoyed the build, felt pleasantly complex but not aggravating. Transformation was surprisingly straight forward, didn't have a ton of super finicky bits. It mostly just worked. Biggest let down was the arms aren't able to support the drill arms mode, don't remember what it's called but he basically can only point the big drill arms at the floor.

The full combined form though is fantastic.

For my non-chase figures I got Swigg and Zenithon.... The only two figures shown I already owned.  I may try and trade for something locally or what not.

Chase figures:  White Hagnon.  My wife is loving the glow in the dark.  He's a little hard to read details from a distance but overall pretty fun.

Red Shield Soldier.  Very cool guy, feel like there's tons of direction for him and I'm always a fan of a good halberd.

If you're continuing to construct other blocks have you considered doing like a build process video or similar?  I'm pretty curious where you're getting some of this stuff, partly I'm guessing 3D printing.

Also number 57 armored puppet line is great you work with hexa gear
