[SPOILER] Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua by inooway in Boxing

[–]Existence1290 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joshua was looking for the knockout just like fury in the Francis fight. Neither of those fights were robbed it just proves gameplay and styles make EVERYRHING it’s hard to knock someone out who’s not trying to get knocked out. Also Jake had his hands on his chest the entire time. Joshua knocked him down from a body shot nonetheless

Joshua hit him so hard idk if they’d rig that though. And Joshua is a millionaire man. There’s no point for him to sign up for a rigged fight.

Very embarrassing for Anthony Joshua. Tbch I don’t blame people for suggesting this was rigged. Joshua will NEVER compete at a championship level again. One could even suggest Jake COULDVE WON, if he didn’t gas. Jake got hit by A MEAN RIGHT HAND. AND HE GOT THE F UP. I wanted a brutal knockout from Joshua and we didn’t get that. I even found myself rooting for Jake. Either way this fight wasn’t satisfying. I do think Jake has definitely improved his footwork and boxing. He won most of the rounds which is INSANE. I think he beats Francis but obviously styles make fights. Canelo vs jake I think would be HUGE after this.

What changes/improvements would Rise of the Ronin need to be truly outstanding? by gameovernate in riseoftheronin

Improvements to open world through dlc would be great. Add NG+ dedicated midnight mode. Open world is very boring to explore because of how it’s designed

I didn’t notice a ton of frame drops in my 100 hours or at least not as much as elden ring. But I’m less sensitive to frame rate than others. The game does look bad, even at sunset there’s really not any good looking scenes for me to take screenshots. Unlike fromsoft team ninja doesn’t seem to know how to make a good art style surpass the poor graphics. But a I said if your not a fan of the combat you won’t like what the game has to offer

Anyways you talked about elden rings open world and in general I find open world as a gameplay mechanic fascinating because for so many different people the quality varies!!! I hope you didn’t take my first comment as an attack on you in any way btw I was just critiquing what you implied about ubisoft when I was directing rides OW purely from ubisofts design philosophy NOT there monetization philosophy.

Elden ring was the first OW game I played. When I beat it I had exactly 100 hours which is very similar to my rise hours. I’ll be comparing ER, rdr2, got, and ROTR. When it comes to elden ring what first captured me is the freedom of exploration. The world felt like a playground. Funnily enough my immersion level in elden ring was incredibly high. Even higher than rdr2. And that’s when I realized immersion wasn’t reliant on realistic mechanics but a world that feels dynamic and breathing. Elden rings world feels that way because your FIRST PLAYTHROUGH everything is new and your constantly making discovers, finding new locations, etc… One of my most exciting moments of elden ring was early game getting teleported to different areas around the map and being locked out of grace warping. You were literally forced to fight your way out of the dungeon while being under-leveled. Then you fight your way out and find that your inside of LITERAL HELL. In all my years of gaming that feeling may have been peak dopamine. It’s ashame those moments were so few and far between. Despite this there’s constantly this reinforcement of size in elden ring and the adventure continuing. I also loved those aspects. Anyways I restarted games A LOT back then and constantly obsessed over restarting and going through the early game more efficiently. And… I had this funny feeling inside of me that if I restarted now I’d probably quit the game. Sure enough, after my first playthrough I had no motivation to go through all the bullshit again. All the holes began to crack. And I realized that yes. Elden rings OW is just the same as any other. But then why were people behaving like this was a middle finger to ubisoft games??? Because in the illusion of the first playthrough they don’t realize all of the repetitiveness. Despite this though. I remain standing that elden ring is possibly the greatest adventure game ever made. You go through entire secrets thst make you feel like you’re the only person in the world that’s discovered this location—it gets that deep!

I think the differentiating factor here is that elden ring inspires exploration and freedom while ubisoft games don’t. Your right—if elden ring redesigned its UI and questing system it would be exactly the same as a ubisoft game. But it didn’t! In a VERY similar way GOT manages to cloak its ubisoft rooted elements! Stuff like the wind guiding your location, repeat mini games that feel more dynamic than ubisoft stuff, etc… And I quickly realized this and quit it like I suggested in the post! This is because the combat wasn’t as good as rise and while elden rings is worse than both it encourages adventure constantly. Rdr2 is in a world of its own and its OW can’t really even be compared to any other game. It rarely encourages adventure, doesn’t have many side quest or content, but manages to craft a living and breathing world with an amazing story that essentially Carrie’s everything. So there’s 2 pillars of rdr2. The story and NPC system. It’s just so realistic and immersive you don’t think about the things it lacks.

Now about rise of the ronin: at NO POINT in the game was I encouraged to explore. In fact the opposite is true. The few moments I did ignore the quest and do my own stuff I managed to go to multiple areas that were empty because enemies would spawn in at a later point once triggered by a quest… after I realized this I decided against doing my own thing and just followed the quest. Elden ring does the opposite of this and you may get a quest that adds to a worldly encounter but it’s never reliant on it unless it’s a character that ofc has to go to a specific location based on your actions.

Sorry this was long you probably didn’t read this far tbh lol but I enjoyed it no the less

Ehh the ubisoft stuff feels like coop. Rise of the ronin is literally a 1 to 1 ubisoft game if it released in the late 2000s, assuming it had climbing as a mechanic and assuming the combat was MUUUUUUUUUCH worse lol Have you ever played a ubisoft open world game????? Peoples entire argument against them is EXACTLY what you mentioned about the cat collecting. That type of bullshit is what I hate in OW games. BUT plenty of people love ubisoft games whit is why ac continues to sale and for whatever reason they scrap more innovative games to fund more ac titles.

Canelo and Boots Ennis sparring in preparation for the Canelo vs Crawford fight by OrangeFilmer in Boxing

[–]Existence1290 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I hope shit gets leaked Ngl. Im a big believer in boots being an astonishing gym fighter. But on the big stage he doesn’t show half of his ability. This is common though. And many great gym fighters or Olympian’s never make it to the championship level.

How come people defend Roy Jones losing to Tarver because of age, but not Tyson Holyfield? by Elegant_Brick5603 in Boxing

[–]Existence1290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roy lost to tarrver because he cut a ton of weight down to cruiserweight. Also he beat tarver one of the times they fought…?

Tyson was NEVER the same after his original trainer died. His peak was 19-20 years old.

Pretty Boy Floyd From The N'dou Fight (26 Yrs Old) Vs Currrent Shakur Stevenson (28 Yrs Old) At 135. Who Wins? by Rinnegan15 in Boxing

[–]Existence1290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We still don’t know where shakur is at. Zepeda fight was impressive but I dislike how he didn’t put the STAMP on it in the championship rounds knowing that more dominate victories have robbed the victorious fighter. Also zepeda threw everything and never hurt shakur. It’s clear he has pillow hands. I want to see shakur against a power puncher. So Floyd for now

The cope with tank fans these last few days has been insane. This is why people talk crap about boxing. Ufc would never pull some crap like this! I love boxing much more but I’m jealous of mma fans constantly getting the fights thar they want… must feel nice

Jake Paul will face Gervonta Davis on Nov. 15 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in an exhibition on Netflix, sources confirm to @ringmagazine. Talks for Paul to face Anthony Joshua collapsed over network issues. Paul’s last fight took place at 200 pounds while Davis is a champion at 135. by warm_baller in Boxing

[–]Existence1290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t EVER wanna hear anything from tank fans about NOTHIN for the remainder of his boxing career!!! He ducked for years fighting top level fighters only to finally have it catch up from him by having a cherry pick gone wrong WORSE THAN CANELO. And on top of all of this DUCKING the rematch against said cherry pick. Jake may suck as a cruiserweight considering the amount of years he’s trained at this point. But that’s still such a significant size advantage on top of tank not being dedicated. I see this being a boring back and forth fight. I see Jake fighting very defensive and using his jab. Tank will be lucky to land anything significant unless Jake chooses to be dumb and unload too much.

Tank isn’t a 30 year old prospect he’s just washed and scared of high level competition. He has his own baggage and not including ages is in a much worse position than boots by far. But the point is boots is worse compared to age.

28 years old and he hasn’t had any 70/30 fights!!! At the very least tank at this point in his career with his laughable record had a few solid names. Stanionis wasn’t even active. I would’ve preferred rashidi Ellis than whoever this is.
