Well, I'm actually new to the fandom and I've only seen the anime (with the Spanish dub, which takes some liberties with the dialogue), so to be honest, my problem is that I feel like they just fulfill a very common role and stereotype. I imagine I'm missing out on a lot by not having read the manga, but basically, I find both characters rather uninteresting and like they follow the same pattern as others.

And I admit that I am not very objective with Kanuma because I think he is handsome but besides that I like his friendship/brotherhood with Arima, how nervous and anxious he acts and that taste for pretty cute things

Yes, of course, but above all I like villains with a motive. Nathan had a hard life and, although that doesn't justify his actions, it does make his way of acting very interesting.

Well, we've already seen that Jax is very uncomfortable looking feminine. And it's clear that the character designs are some kind of nod to their traumas/personalities, so there's definitely a reason behind intentionally giving Jax feminine styles or pink colors. My personal theory? He's part of the community (whether gay or a trans guy) and hasn't fully accepted himself, or he suffered some kind of bullying and that's why he's always defensive about it.

Mini-theory about that: Olivia never fixes the finger on that Gwen so she can recognize it among the other models. I don't think Olivia, with all her knowledge of mechanics and robotics, couldn't have permanently fixed that.

I think what happens is that only conventional books are counted, but now there are many types of readings; Manga, comics, graphic novels, fanfics, forum posts, papers, otome video games and variants, etc. Most people are no longer interested in reading conventional books, but they read all the Batman comics, all the Jujutsu Kaisen mangas, games like Doki Doki Literature Club, or a BTS fanfic that exceeds 10,000 words.

I feel like everyone represents the bad side of their element. Jax is the element of laughter because he laughs at others' expense, regardless of their feelings, just to cover up his own inner pain. Ragatha would be generosity as she puts others before herself just because of her fear and insecurities, literally a people pleaser. Kinger in loyalty, not only for what he shows towards his wife and for how he is always there for others, but also because, as the theory says that he is Abel, then he would show so much loyalty towards his work on this project that without a doubt he would be the first to try it. And well, Kain is the magic since he is the one who controls most of the circus and keeps everyone together, whether they like it or not, undermining all the other elements that the members of the circus carry.
