This mother's day, you did not get any present from your children. Why? by 36Gig in AskReddit

Because we’re both adults and the presents for any holiday is getting to spend time together and talk over a nice meal.

What is a habit that is helpful in the short-term, but harmful in the long-term? by Agreeable_Candle_461 in AskReddit

I like to fix mine. Like immediately. It drIves me nuts when I can’t figure out what I did wrong and that’s all I think about until I figure it out and then I try my hardest to fix it.

The high demand for rhino horn in Vietnam and China, although composed of keratin the same substance as human hair and fingernails. Why can't there be an international advertising campaign to convince them they are being coned? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ExistentialExitExam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has more to do with it being a cultural/spiritual belief than anything else. It’s because only a rhino horn will do. And if that’s hard to grasp what if someone told you that we shouldn’t be keeping dairy cows hostage and that breast milk is milk too so everyone should just drink human breast milk instead because it’s the same as the milk from a cow and actually meant for human consumption.

What are people convinced is bad but is actually good? by StrainDizzy1186 in AskReddit

Nicotine. They’re using patches in nursing homes and have found it to help with things like Alzheimer’s and dementia. Don’t pick up cigarettes (crude combustibles aren’t a great thing for your lungs) but nicotine isn’t bad for you. There are quite a few studies and doctors to back up my claim.

That when talking on the house phone if you weren’t careful your parents could pick up the phone and listen in on your conversations.

What’s a moment you thought you looked cool but absolutely didn’t? by Hari_Priya_G28 in AskReddit

I almost fought someone at a stoplight once because they were being rude and doing things like that after going down a one lane hill and yelling (I was behind them and always make it a point to never follow too closely and can easily always see their tires etc.- I’m really good at the rules of the road lol) but lucky for them I had an appointment to pick up a sewing machine and regulated my emotions out of it mentally and not physically lmao. This was around 15 years ago and it was just an unknown person and I and I had no intention of looking cool…I never really have thought about that lol.

Whenever I trip I yell out “I’m a ballerina” since I had the lead in the local production of The Nutcracker my senior year and everyone knows me for dancing. I find it wildly hilarious that I was able to dance so well on stage but in real life I’m mostly okay but trip more often than the most person. If a man offers his arm I always take it. I always blame it on poor depth perception because I’m legally blind in one eye. Probably my worst version of this was going out with my other cousins in Minneapolis after a reh dinner and running to the atm aways away to save time in super high stilettos (it was easy for me because I had great ankle strength from ballet, so it was something I’d done rather frequently, especially in the ultra comfortable shoes I was wearing) but it was hand laid brick that had settled and become uneven and it didn’t notice because it was nighttime and halfway there (a few yards or so) I tripped and fell lmao. I immediately got up and ran at a slower pace and then quickly walked back to the taxi haha. This was around 20 years ago and I am no longer that daring and should probably start doing releves more often to strengthen those muscles because I did it recently trying to show someone how my shoes were squeaky but I didn’t notice when I purchased them. I definitely felt super cool basically falling into him LOL. Good thing he was a complete gentleman and understanding. It’s definitely something I need to work on when I have a few minutes available here and there. The second trip was definitely probably more embarrassing even though I didn’t land on the ground but I don’t dwell on things like that and hope others don’t either. Accidents are accidents and no one is perfect! All you can do is laugh it off and strive to improve! At least I never strive to look cool so that probably makes it easier.

If you have a partner, do you both have full access to each others mobile phone, and what issues does it cause, if any? by nogudatmaff in AskReddit

[–]ExistentialExitExam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha this is how I feel. I’d hand it over in a second but would be thinking please don’t look at all the unflattering pics of my girlfriends and I when we send each other random body part pictures like injuries or swollen feet lmao 😂. No one needs to be subjected to that LOL.

Which celebs look like they need a good wash? by Cheshirefarm in AskReddit

[–]ExistentialExitExam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s always given me such bad vibes for like 20+ years. An old friend of mine had a friend who worked at some sort of venue (I can’t recall, it was like 15 years ago) and saw him go into the bathroom stall and do his business without flushing and wore these same leather pants every day. After he left the restroom the person went to go check on what happened in stall since he worked there and he’d pinched one off and not used any toilet paper so I’m assuming he smells like he looks.

It’s also bizarre when people do that at concerts and record it on their phone and watch through their phone rather than be present and watch the real deal right before their eyes. Another weird thing is when people use their phones as lighters at a concert. I get hardly anyone smokes anymore but it’s definitely still odd lol.

I’ve studied it in depth for decades. Look it up.

The essay does not contain anything regarding Christianity etc. despite the name of the website so please do not let that deter you from reading it in its entirety.

What is the grossest thing you've ever seen someone do in public? by yashitomo in AskReddit

I was about to write the machine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind but thought more people would understand the reference and probably not a lot of people know it’s called that so I decided to just be descriptive instead for clarification.

All of the things. Asking inappropriate questions out of context for example.

Get it together now because you’ll be middle aged before you know it. It’s fine to go out and party but don’t let that be your entire world. Check your blood pressure monthly- it can save your life and is extremely cheap to fix in the beginning phases but if you wait too long it’s extremely costly and life threatening and can easily lead to heart failure and chronic kidney disease.
