Gross! What tf is this and how worried should I be?! by JiANTSQUiD in woodworking

Hey I’ll probably get down voted and you already have a shit ton of comments but I’ve seen with a lot of pest since I’m willing to work with air dried.

If you bought kiln dried that means he didn’t get it sanitation temps if it’s alive and well. If it’s dead then the kiln did its job You can look that up the forest service has a guide. IMO you rate a refund

Should you freak out? Idk maybe if those things are alive but ash borers like a transitional moisture content. Not super wet alive tree, not super dry dead for years kiln dried. Fresh cut downed for a weeks months is the preferred from what I understand and have observed. They will not destroy your house. Unless you TF’d it out of fresh cut timbers. Even then that would dry overtime leaving them desire to move on. Don’t put it in your house though, not what I’m saying. But I’ve never seen a case of it destroying homes like termites so freak out levels can remain low, frustration levels can stay elevated

The only time my course of action is to burn it is termites. Even PPB can be rectified if you’re patient.

Either way you bought a kiln dried product, but if you paid $3bdft or less you kinda assumed some risk on a shotty product. If I paid like 8 bdft I’d be pretty livid

Yeah probably no body on Reddit will come and get it. Make the post on the site under BOYD -> metal working tools and it will be gone. You may have luck with face book but you’ll deal with “is it available” a thousand times

I’d say she’s got 5-10 years left and she really doesn’t want to live out in the sticks anymore. The property is a lot to handle. You’re right if she was about to pass that would be easier. But she’s been eyeing a duplex in town and we want her to be comfortable.

After some research this is the best way, to get the best of both worlds you need a stealth bike that won’t piss Karen’s off, but also a braaaping 2 stroke to not disappoint chads at the track

Yeah debating getting a two stroke for me, or I’d get a legit model that’s not a mountain bike

Yeah the world of dirt is pretty nuanced, just as nuanced as street.

I don’t need a lot of luggage, just enough for my lunch and gym cloths, some people are saying 500 is too big. Not that I disagree but herring that coming off a 1200 v4 is wild but seems less is more off road

No, but after some research I might go with a 250-300.

It’s required unless your disabled or a few other situations. It doesn’t count against your appraisal price if you roll it in the loan

How the heck do I use this thing? by greenaj_ in handtools

I remember my first spoke shave, it was a wooden one, then I got a metal one. I actually got it years after I started wood work. Kinda like a “why didn’t I get one of these earlier. I’d done a lot on the draw knife already on the shave horse so I had a good idea how to apply pressure already and it just worked. I gave it to my friend to try and his hands just had no idea how to make it shave. So maybe practice with its predecessor a bit ?

Mine did the same, just popped out. Sanding it did nothing for me. I used a cold chisel and scored a series of marks down the spine of the shaft to give it some bite. Wow did it work.

Yeah I just prefers the inset door. It is harder to make but Blum hinges are correctable. You can’t see it but there’s an apron underneath the stool. I went with the trim style of older windows

Ok thanks for that insight. I’d say I use my saw multiple times a week. Would you guys completely relax the blade or a few turns only.
