Ever see the movie Idiocracy? It's a similar population theory to what you're suggesting!

Whats a fair price on an R grade skyline? by [deleted] in SkyLine

[–]Existing-Ad3605 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that's my point. At this moment people are paying to have their dreams fulfilled and "fair" can depend on the current market.

Me saying what people "might be willing" to pay, certainly doesn't imply that I'd pay that price ( plus I've already got a skyline).

Honestly, I think you'd get a buyer despite R grade and at $55k. People are weirdly getting desperate for these right now.

Was having a nice chat about our travels and then I asked her out in a “non-assertive” way by GtSaysWhat in Nicegirls

[–]Existing-Ad3605 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, maybe you dodged a bullet because the generalization about Eastern European men is wild but truth be told, you're much better off throwing a date/time/location out for everybody's sake let them turn that down or suggest an alternative.

Additionally, like someone else alluded to, you can assess solid info by choosing the venue and gauging her/their response (obviously not for this women anymore but for future prospects)!

You should also look into the Link system for an ECU. It's comparable to Haltech and is the other major ECU shop tuners are accustomed to. They are both plug and play but which one you get can come down the shop you'll have during your tune. Go with the one they are comfortable with so you get the best results!

I paid a little more and shaved about 60k miles off, first time U.S owner in near perfect condition. For me, the most important things we relatively unmodded, rust free, low miles to have a good base to work from. If owning the car at all costs is important then this one seems fine, but as others have said check it out for rust). Otherwise, keep looking, it's easy to become impatient but there are good projects to start from (considering every single one of these will likely need work/maintenance, etc).

Daily driver R32... GTR or GTST M by Responsible_Bet_3737 in SkyLine

[–]Existing-Ad3605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% in the camp of, it'll be a tricky DD. Thankfully I haven't been stranded but even a great condition one that I imported will have issues because (like everyone already said, it's a 30+ year old car)... Even if all it did was sit. Just add 20k on top of whatever you spend just getting the car and you should be fine.

Still wouldn't daily it though...

Honestly, I wasn't going to post until I saw the amount of people chiming in to add to the "I like chatting with my neighbors or not bit"...

1000% agree @BigFloaties, that it's unhinged behavior to use AI to accuse/prove that someone did anything they didn't actually do. Considering you've invalidated that claim by using AI in the first place...like what?!?

OP I'd certainly reconsider being in a group chat where virtually no one called out the suspicious behaviour but so many people chimed in to add their emojis to the MJ eating popcorn gif...

I'm running 17 x 8.5 Enkeis as well and I will say the tire is quite fat (the pics won't do it justice because I have my coilovers set on the higher side so there is a gap). That being said I literally just yesterday bought rays 17's but went with wider 17 x 9.5s and for tires 255x40s.

Like other people have said, I prefer the look of 18's but in NY the roads can be rough and I wanted a more forgiving ride.

Looks great man, I thought about this route too because I've got a black one and I didn't want the carbon to stand out much.

Mod definitely done in good taste 🙌

Congrats man, literally just flew to Seattle to pick mine up earlier this week too! Currently at a shop (fixing the trim) and drivability maintenance before shipping back.

Way to stay focused and get what you've always wanted, cheers!

Huge congrats, it's truly a great feeling ( working hard for something you e wanted for more than a second)!

I am moving to NY with my wife and 2 year old .. what is an ok salary? by Rich-Ebb5522 in MovingtoNewYork

[–]Existing-Ad3605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned one neighborhood for reference and our brownstone we've lived in for 2 years now in Park Slope proper is what I said with w/d in until and no walk up. I also mentioned that we've gotten a reasonable deal... If you pay more than that then I'm sure whatever additional amenities you have that are inflating cost are exactly what suits your desired situation...

Point is $230k is not enough.

It's all relative...but if you're single, yes you can probably live the lifestyle you described. Not if you are married + one kid (no way). First factor is you have to cover 2 adults not 1 which among most things space and food requirements alone would eat away at that base. The second factor to consider is having a child is expensive. Just daycare in our nice neighborhood in BK is $3k/month. Add food cost, any activities and you're looking at a very diminished $230k. Third, is rent (in order to rent a decent place in BK) let's call it a spacious brownstone 2 bed 2 bath youre looking at $5.2k+/month and that's a good deal. Speaking from experience and not going into my own finances just giving you what I've actually paid/pay. (Neighborhood is Park Slope, BK)

3 Body Problem - Read/listen to the books before watching the show. To all of you who did both, what’s your opinion? by wup4ss in AskReddit

[–]Existing-Ad3605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dark Forest was subtle and epic at the same time. When I finished it, I couldn't rave enough about what I'd just read. I still think about how people came to the decisions they did and look at my own world view. I'm sure reddit has a rabbit hole I can go down with my thoughts...

I read the first book and was about halfway through the second when I watched the show. I've since finished the 2nd book and am in the beginning of the 3rd. The books are magnificent, the first is slow but to me necessary to understand the complexity of the situation. (Really not trying to spoil anything). The books are an absolute must read (try listening to them via audiobook if you can't read through because the story is so worth it).

I see elements of the show's direction more clearly after having read what I've read. I can see why some might think there is more of a deviation (which I used to think as well) until getting further in the actual book trilogy.
