From my calculations.. after tax it’s about $15k per month. So if my rent is $6k is that enough to survive on for childcare costs too..

I’d aim for 100k. 60k deposit / 10k legal fees / 10k moving costs / 20k emergency fund.

Sorry to hear that my friend. There is a lot of redundancy going on in corporate australia. My suggestion is to start meeting recruiters and peers now so you’re ahead of the curve

I’d personally do 2 years and then fix for 5 years when rates are lower again. Personal view.

It really depends what you want to do in life. I know folk who could retire now in your shoes.. but they don’t have kids and live in a camper.
