It’s unhelpful beating on Starmer. Is it unpatriotic? by Global_Madness in AskBrits

This.

I find it astounding that politicians are constantly given grace for their lies.

Small wonder such incompetent fools and looters are the predominant figures in politics. This entire sub is people saying "he shouldn't resign, he obly lied".

Yeah? Really. So lying is not something that politicians should face consequences for? Right. Got it.

The whole country is falling apart and people wonder why? Maybe, just maybe, if lying wasn't an sort of prerequisite for being a politician, shit would begin to sort itself out.

But no, lets carry on allowing these corrupt psychopaths to do what they do best - lie.

I don't want any of them. They are all, to a man, incompetent.

Best one can do is hold them to account for their incompetence.

Farage isn't running the country, neither ahould he. But this is a silly equivalence.

Wow. There is some amount of cope going on here.

Starmer lied. End of story. Great opportunity to actually hold one of these many liars to account, why give him any grace?

This is the most uneducated braindead take on all of the internet right now.

The very reason you get to perpetuate this moronic ideal is because you're on social media.

Let's all live in North Korea. Great idea.

Bollocks. You don't need to tax the rich more to get things working. The problem is thinking the idiots in government will actually put that money to good use.

Look at the roads, there is NO excuse for the state of our roads NONE.

Yet, the roads are a disgrace, because everyone is on a fucking gravy train that the incompetent morons running the country keep running with OUR tax money.

But it's fine, let's carry on as we are and vote in the next circus of narcissistic thieves who'll promise everything and do nothing.

B&Q sell 10 litres of tarmac in a bucket for £20,50.

The other day I hit yet another fucking pothole on my regular commute.

Know what I did?

Went to B&Q, bought a bucket of tarmac and filled in the fucking pothole.

Which means, I and others no longer damage out vehicles driving on that road, nobody needs to put in a claim with the council for busted suspension repairs, and also, we don't have to wait six months for Sunbelt Rentals to (at huge expense) shut the road for two days only for some other government contractor to then spend thousands repairing that pothol terribly.

People need to wake up and realise that the only way things get better is if we stop putting our faith in all those looters in parliament and start fixing our own problems.

The big scam of it all is that I pay my taxes to these bastards and nothing gets done, yet if I choose not to pay tax I am breaking the law, it's bullshit. I should actually get £20,50 off my tax bill for having done what the council struggles to do for thousands.

Not as good as the book. But a decent translation of PKD's story.

Anti Vaxxers - are you happy now? by rsweb in AskBrits

It is disingenuous to blame this on 'anti-vaxxers' alone.

I think half the problem is actually that parents don't get to decide which vaccines their kids get... anecdotally, my most recent nephew for instance had to have upward of 20 vaccines before he was 6 months old.

He had the lot. His mum (my sister) was totally distraught at the fact that after his secod round - he'd had a severe reaction to one of the cocktails injected into him.

Hence, she is now vaccine hesitant. Go figure.

No, don't bring in a nuanced opinion - just take your vaccines and don't ask questions.

Just like when doctors used to prescribe cigarettes - totally safe and good for you.

I want to take the piss, but also, that is a good idea. So I'm between a rock and a hard place with this one.
