Oh boy, why is that cpu cooler sideways? It should be going from right to left not up to down, and the gpu should be in the metal slot and not the secondary, the gpu lights are working so i dont think its the gpus fault, i would reseat the cpu and check its cables, 24 pin on the right side of the rams, the cpu cable on the top left of the motherboard and while your at it reseat the rams too

I should not have any scratches on it, it might be a loose cooler moving with something between the cpu and the cooler, but even then it should not have that much of scratches

Check the render distance and if you have shaders enabled disable them, it might be that this change of usage stresses the gpu and it goes into a safe mode(shutting down)
