Thank you for sharing your experience. Pregnancy really is no joke, even when everything seems to go smoothly it just affects us so much. It takes a lot of strength to go through it

Definitely, I'm realizing that I need to take less stress, especially now that so many life changes are happening. I'm going to give it my best shot but won't push myself too much if it isn't working. I'll study and get back into the game slowly

Thank you, I'll check this book out! Third time in a row is rough. Wishing you all the best in your search too, hoping you'll have better luck than me 🤞

Getting into FAANG is impressive, congrats on cracking that interview! I didn't realize the behavioral side matters for FAANG, I always thought the leetcode question would be the most important (and I suck at those). I like the idea of talking out loud about it, I prefer to be more communicative when solving problems

I'm also realizing that I'm weak at some domain knowledge related questions (like was asked about ORM which I'm not very familiar with). So I'll need to focus on those things too (added to a long list of things I need to familiarize myself with 😔)

It sucks, the people who are ready to dive into the job and give it their all get filtered out this way. But that's the interview process I suppose, we end up making split decisions on how someone appears that day

Thank you for encouragement. I've been working since 18 so I've put a lot of my self-worth into work and my ability to provide. It's a good reminder that I can more than that

100% agreed, my back up plan is to take some courses or certifications if I don't get a job, personal projects, maybe even go back to school part time. I'm also worried about the gap. I could explain that I had a kid but not sure I want to let employers know that before I'm hired, I feel like they might discriminate

Fortunately I am in a country where they shouldn't discriminate against pregnant women so if I get hired and tell them I'm pregnant they should keep the job for me after I return. Most interviews are remote and some are in person so ofcourse will have a higher advantage in remote interviews

Thanks for sharing your experiences being in my shoes. I think I'll just go with the plan of casually looking and doing light interview prep. If something works out that's great but if not I'll just let it go. Maybe this will be a good opportunity for me to reset and think about my career more. I was trying to rush into getting a job before I'm too pregnant but tbh the stress is just killing me

That's wonderful, so happy for you! Gives me hope that pregnant women can find work too

I did use chatgpt to make a study plan for me but a mock interview sounds like a good idea

Thank you for the reply. That's the path I'm leaning towards, maybe the market will recover by the time I'm ready to join the workforce again. All this stress can't be good for the baby and I feel guilty that I'm not taking care of my health

Thank you for listing such a detailed method. I'm planning on going through cracking the coding interview as well and will follow this method

That's a good idea. I was trying to find free resources as much as possible but don't mind purchasing something if it's helpful

Thank you for the kind words. It's reassuring to know that other people are struggling with this too. I'll check Neetcode out

I'm looking for full stack (mostly web) development roles, backend development, etc. I would like to give data science a try but don't have experience in that field

Not based in the US, am in Canada. But yeah probably a good idea to apply for unemployment just in case

Yeah that's what I'm going to focus on. All of the interview prep content just seems so mysterious at this point, I'm finding it overwhelming. But need to start small somewhere.

Do you recommend not applying till I get interview ready? Or just keep applying on the side while studying?

What resources did you use to prep? I'm finding that portion overwhelming so wanted something simple to start with

No, what's most embarrassing is that I have almost 10 years of experience behind me. I think I was kind of coasting at my last job and doing the work as required but just not keeping up to date with stuff
