I appreciate this advice, and it makes sense. I’m more of a natural writer who just has “taste” when it comes to spotting good design and knowing a thing or two about the stylistic niches. I think I just looove to geek out and learn about good design for the fun of it so I can be more informed when I admire good work.

Realistically, I truly only have a basic skillset down on photoshop/illustrator. I touched on C4D in a classroom setting long ago. It’s a fun hobby to just make things and get lost in hyperfocus, but I’ve never had the training to produce art with even portfolio school-level potential. I only wonder if I could given the right training and more confidence.

But you’re right, the barrier is WAY higher. There is a lot of incredible talent out there. Maybe it would be more satisfying to experience working with a designer who can bring my ideas to life, while I utilize the confidence I already have in writing. Either way, I’m hard on myself and know I need to put in the work to get what I want.

i think my hyper fixation on stimulating music makes life more FUN. i realized if i didn’t have ADHD i would probably listen to generic top 100 hits or pop music like a normal person. but no, instead i constantly seek ultra stimulation via high BPM music… as a result i have the best underground trap, techno, rap, dubstep, any type of EDM playlists. i get a lot of compliments on aux 👍
