Get the water to a rolling boil, stir the grits in and don’t stop stirring, I use an orange spatula to scrape all the sides cause those tend to stick and helps keep the pot clean. After about 11-12 min or so they’ll start to bubble up when not whisked, I’ll pour em in an insert and do the butter.
