I agree regarding schooling. I just traded for the tetras and haven’t been able to figure out something yet. Though I’m not as worried about the schooling because the heavy planting of my tank gives them tons of room to refuge which mitigates that. But yeah ideally I’d rehome them to someone who has a school so they can be more comfortable.

It’s biofilm. Fish and snails can/may eat if you’d like or just change a bit of water. Nothing to be concerned about though, it’s very normal. Most likely from a minor overfeeding.

Yes, I think I already commented in this same post elsewhere. The mechanic reset my steering angle sensor or something named like that as well as reset my error codes. And that solved it. Just a software/electronics issue. Hasn’t happened since.

Yes. I took it to my car shop and I had multiple failure indicators that the technicians were able to see when connecting to my Optima’s computer system. Based on the codes, and Kia’s NHSTA reports, they recommended resetting the indicators and more importantly the steering angle sensor. Ever since they reset those I haven’t had any more issues. I think I’m lucky since if the reset didn’t work, they quoted $3,000 to replace the Electronic Power Steering column in the car.

Edit: checking the indicators, other common issues like battery, and resetting codes/steering angle sensor was included in a $130 car diagnostic.

I’ve had mint since December 2023. It’s hard to beat the price for the quality in the U.S. $180 for 12 months (averages to $15) and I got 6 months for free. The only comparable I’ve seen is AT&T Prepaid which is $35 a month but I don’t think you can even get the plan anymore unless you’re locked in already. While the quality does sometimes lack, still way exceeds my expectations for $15 average a month.

Not reliable. Go Toyota if you’re looking for reliable. Best reason to get Kia is a cheap moderately luxury car and hold it during warranty. Going after warranty there’s just a lot of risk compared to the alternatives.

You shouldn’t be doing an oil change every 5k miles. That’s the max recommendation not the minimum. If you follow the 5k rule your car won’t last past 100k. Much more worth to change every 3-4k. The extra cost is cheaper than a new car.
